Anybody a little concerned with Beason?

I am concerned that Beason may not be able to "handle" his new position at Will, which to my understanding requires more coverage skills verses just roaming and attacking the ball carrier. After having the microfracture/achilles injuries there is no question that his speed will be compromised. So, if he does struggle, who will be the one to step up into that position? AJ, Blackburn or who? Sorry for the ignorance but I'm not a position expert some some of you are.

I've already moved on from Beason. Unfortunately I don't see him returning to his former self when he was an animal. Too many major injuries. Time to look ahead to the future and the younger guys/new additions at the LB spot.

Wow... Mpwilliams brought the thunder! Many pies for him.

I am confident with or with out Beason. Strictly cap speaking I am worried that he may not be needed anymore and is honestly soaking up money that would be best suited for upgrades. We all know how his situation went down so no need to discuss that (it is what it is). But I would tend to think if his dead money didn't play a factor, the FO would have moved on this year.

Don't get me wrong I hope he comes back strong and earns the money. But if not, it's going to chain us down for a third year straight.

Put it this way:

I feel bad for Beason, but not for the team. Rivera and the FO were preparing for life without Beason before a large part of the fan base even understood the reality of the situation.  While most people were (and even still are )hopeful about a Beastly return, the FO was not hedging its bets, and put the defense in a position to seamlessly move on.

To be honest, looking back, Kuechly was Beasons effective replacement (like has been mentioned), so we have already upgraded the position really.  Blackburn was the immediate placement for Anderson, and Klein basically fell into our laps, so we have upgraded and/or at least held serve in a smart manner.  Just like we received excellent, and widely unexpected play from TD last year, anything that we can get out of Beason this year is gravy.  We are going to be OK, regardless.
