Soccer '13-'14 season

I'd like to think that Ozil will really shine behind a world class striker (and no, that doesn't include gutless Podolski despite a few decent clinical finishes recently).

I went to Arsenal vs WHam and definitely agree with the winger comment - Arsenal, especially with the unit that is Giroud up front, are crying out for crosses but they always piddle about with the ball at the edge of the box before losing all ideas and passing it back to the halfway line or giving up and lumping it in the air to an unchallenged goalkeeper.

I can see Sagna going, but personally can't see Giroud going, and can't see how all of those players mentioned in a previous post leaving will free up £40 million. The Emirates is surely fully paid off now so I reckon Wenger will have a decent budget this Summer.

They can sale Cazorla alone for £25m. Podolski for £12 and Giroud for £15. Arsenal will also have about £60m in extra in transfer fees from TV deals.

Now, will Wenger spend all this money is another story but I do think he will buy at least world class striker.

Sorry, I didn't notice you mentioned Cazorla. I think it would be devastating if he left. A player with so much talent and the mindset to do something different when the Arsenal way of piddling about on the edge of the box isn't working.

Chelsea have just scored - urgh.

If only you guys had a real striker. Jeez.

Next year is going to be very competitive.

Giroud is slow and horrible finisher... Zero creativity! It's been a pain watching him play. Sometimes he looks like dummy that does nothing for the whole game.

Second leg is almost here. Hopefully Real can get an early goal and really put the pressure on with Bayern needing 3 to advance. Ronaldo is in blistering form after missing extended time earlier in the month, and Bale should be back to full health after being limited last week with the flu. Also, Marcelo is finally back, and despite Promethean not liking him, he can be creative on the outside. Here's to a good game with the Whites prevailing. A key player could be Isco, who is playing his finest football of the entire season right now. Creative, an eye for the goal, and showing the ability to backtrack and get the ball back. He could be a key member of the Starting XI or a vital second half substitution.

    • XL could easily be the last dog at the bowl for WR production next year.  That could leave him around 200-300 yards which would be disastrous.
    • Well sure, that's where the disconnect is then. If Thielen only gets 300-400 yards and T-Mac is healthy for the full season, then I'm with you guys, in that scenario there is absolutely zero excuse for him to not put up over 1,000 yards.   In fact, I'll let you double that, if Thielen has only 600 yards, then again, my expectations are for T-Mac to surpass the 1k mark with ease. But his game has never been about his physical abilities, so even if he loses a half a step, he's still the same player who is a savvy route runner who will get open and Bryce will continue to find him due to their chemistry.  Particularly since Bryce isn't a QB who forces things, he takes what the defense gives him.  So when teams focus on T-Mac and Thielen is more free to find those holes in the defense than he has the last two years, I don't think Bryce is going to ignore him. If someone wants to argue for T-Mac getting to 1,000 yards, personally, I'd say those yards would be far more likelier to come from XL and Coker than Thielen.  And that has nothing to do with XL or Coker, but that I'm still a firm believer in Thielen being able to still get 50-60 yards a game, again, particularly as he'll have less defensive attention on him than in either of his 2 seasons with us so far. Just because T-Mac is our #1 of the future who will have the ball forced to him at times, doesn't mean he needs to be forced into that role from day 1 when we have 3 very legitimate WR options next to him. Let the rookie grow into the role and the NFL game, we have that ability to do so because of Thielen, XL, and Coker.
    • Spot on. He's only 20 and his height 6'2 and weight 230lbs might make him more of an off-ball LB possibility. He's a multi-year project
