Soccer '13-'14 season

Absolutely. While perhaps not the biggest club in the world, Liverpool is a global brand. We have huge followings in many countries. Getting back into European competition and all the money that comes with TV rights and more ticket sales will do wonders for the club financially. We are not in dire circumstances yet, but we have a ways to go to climb back out.

As a football fan, I recommend reading this: http://www.deloitte.com/assets/Dcom-UnitedKingdom/Local%20Assets/Documents/Industries/Sports%20Business%20Group/uk-sbg-football-money-league-2013.pdf

It breaks down the world's most valuable clubs and why they have either dropped or risen. LFC are at #9.

That is really an interesting article ... it was amazing seeing the shear revenue difference between Real Madrid and Man City! Holy cow!!!

It's unbelievable. The amount of money thrown around in European football is hard to really understand. Glad you enjoyed the article!

It is but could you imagine if the NFL, Basketball, ect would do the same??? Working in NASCAR, I see what having this resource can do for you, but then again we are not supplying the arena (or track in our case) so we need to have that sponsorship to carry our cost. Because we don't really get the ticket and concessions sales.

But imagine having BOTH and lets add minimal overhead cost in soccer equipment needed .... HOLY COW!

I just recently got into soccer/futbol here recently ... love the passion of the fans!! I got FIFA 14 for the xbox and now I'm hooked.

It truly is insane. Just to put the amount of money floated around in perspective, Liverpool receives £25m/year to wear Warrior kits, and then anouther £20m/year to put "Standard Chartered" on the front of the kit. £45m/year just to get dressed every match, and that's not even the most lucrative deal in Premiership!

Wait, so Chumpski has revenues of 322.6 million Euros and are still in debt this year by 32 million?? Holy crap they spend a lot!

It really is an interesting look at the money coming into a club. Granted, it's revenues and not profit, which I'd be curious to see how these same teams rank after expenses. Great find!

Got this from newspaper in London and Fox Soccer...

"Tottenham's summer of love is threatening to turn into a winter of discontent: Three of the players bought during the £100million spending spree six months ago - Erik Lamela, Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli - already want out."

Depends on which paper you're reading... according to one, Lamela's father says he wants to go back to La Liga. According to another, his brother says he's loving it being in the BPL, and enjoys being a Spur. Capoue wants out on one, has minor injuries keeping him sidelined in another. Chadli.. that one's a first for me, but Holtby is supposedly being courted by Shalke again to come home - this way Arsenal can nab Drexler (even though another paper has said he doesn't want to go there)....

I don't believe those European Rags anymore. When I see a contract has been struck, then I might start to believe them... until I see the official team boards, then I'll buy into it 100%. Call me a bit skeptical until then though.
