Soccer '13-'14 season

It's nothing huge. It will just be nice to host the big clubs late in the season when we are all fighting for position.

but at the same time most of our points have came from just crushing these weaker clubs at home.  it won't be as easy on the road.  so it does go both ways.  especially because this team has struggled on the road some against weaker clubs even in the small sample.  horrible loss to hull city and were lucky to get out of swansea with a draw.

I would be more worried if we were winning 1-0 or 2-1 at home against these teams. We are ripping them apart.

The Hull loss doesn't look so bad anymore. Hull just ripped Fulham 6-0, played Man U very close, and has really put together some strong performances. Sure, we absolutely should have won that match, but I'd be shocked if Hull comes into Anfield and even keeps it close.

Swansea was without Suarez and starting Andre Wisdom on the back line. We've dealt with a lot of injuries over the whole season. I'm not saying we are just going to have a cakewalk, I just think there is a lot to look forward to and we have a favorable draw the second half of the campaign.

yeah.  i know a guy who's an awfully obnoxious city fan.  he's talked poo about liverpool all year, pretty much saying they have a little chance at finishing top 4 and he acts like they're not in the same league as city/arsenal/chelsea.  even after the game yesterday when liverpool clearly deserved at least a draw he acted like city was still completely superior and he won't give suarez any credit.  he says there's multiple players in prem that he thinks are better than suarez.  says suarez just pads his stats against bad teams.  god dammit, i hope we annihilate city at anfield.  and how do you feel about chelsea tomorrow?  i feel like we have a good chance to win as long as we keep the pressure up.  continue to attack and i think they'll have a hard time slowing us down.  i am worried though they seem to be dangerous off set pieces, and that's the achilles heel of this team imo.

oh and i can't wait for sturridge to be back.  honestly i don't think gerrard makes much of a difference at this point.

i was thinking i wonder if we could try to sign a guy like Cabaye?  would he be an upgrade over joe allen?  allen seems to be key to us for ball control and holding possession.

I'm pretty sure Suarez had the most chances created in that game, so your friend sounds like a box score analyst. Suarez can contribute in more ways than just scoring goals. In fact, I believe it was a Suarez pass that opened up Sterling/Coutinho on that first goal and it was a Suarez through ball that should have set up Sterling on that "offsides" call.

I think we have a good chance at Stamford Bridge tomorrow. I'd be happy with a draw, ecstatic with a win, and pretty disappointed with a loss. I know Mourinho's record at Stamford Bridge and all, but I still think we can win.

Sturridge coming back will be huge for everyone. It will open up a lot of space for Suarez and allow Coutinho to be more creative. You and I are in the minority in think Gerrard is not really a huge factor on the pitch anymore. What we do miss is his leadership presence, but his open play has been declining rapidly. He's a wizard on set pieces though. That hasn't changed.

I would love to sign Cabaye, but he may be out of our price range. A guy like Adam Lallana may be more likely for us. I'm still hearing we are like 99% to sign FC Basel winger Mohamed Salah. He's a young guy and he seems to fit the style of play we have. We'll see though. Rodgers will have to work within a pretty strict budget, I'm sure.

yeah and newcastle is actually having a good season.  they still have a shot to make a run at top 4.  prem is insanely competitive this year and newcastle would ask a ton to sell cabaye to another team in prem.  i was thinking henderson/suarez is the new gerrard/torres.

wait so you're going to a match?  which one?  and i assume you live in the states.... how much does it cost?  my dream is to see a game at anfield, want to make it happen soon

I am going to Anfield April 26th when Chelsea come to town. I live in North Carolina. I am going with my girlfriend and we are staying really close to Anfield. Plane ticket and hotel is about $1400/person. I am getting the tickets for free. One of my company's best customers has a manufacturing plant in the Merseyside area, so he hooked me up. I'm really excited.
