They have players hot right now. They'll cool down and come back to earth. I think their returning players will make them stronger as the season progresses, but the squad is playing beyond what they are right now.

West Brom vs Arsenal was one of the worst refereed games I have ever seen... Slide tackles from behind in the box twice... No call. Hand ball in the box... No call. Wilshare punched in the head, laying on the ground without moving, referee allows game to continue...

Spurs were getting results almost entirely based on their defensive play. West Ham caught them out and had a frenzy for a few minutes. Spurs aren't built to play from behind in my opinion.

Just for fun, I used the "NBC Premier League Team Picker" app on Facebook. One of the questions was what my favorite NFL team was. Of course, "Panther" led directly to Sunderland being chosen for me.

USMNT just clinched the top spot in the CONCACAF hex with their win over Jamaica and Costa Rica's loss to Honduras. Honduras could clinch a spot in WC 14 with a MEX-PAN tie.

Real Madrid have come out and formally denied Marca's report that Bale has a slipped disc and requires surgery.

 

Still, his debut season at the Bernabéu could not be off to a worse start. So far, Tottenham and Arsenal are the only winners in the Bale transfer.

It is 78 plus extras in incentives that can take it to 86 if he performs well enough from what I've read. I don't think you can say RM got raped till we see what Bale does when healthy. He was rushed back when he wasn't ready, and the results are he got injured again. Just take time to get him back at 100% before getting him out there and the transfer will pay off. He may never be worth 80 (very few players are), but it won't look like RM got absolutely screwed once he gets healthy....

Chris Coleman has said he wouldn't be surprised if it is after December when Bale returns to the starting lineup.  He may be wrong, but that has to be a terrifying proposition for Madrid fans.  We've seen this sort of thing before.
