Notice the media slowly building Cam up?

When did this ever happen????

he'll get back to you on that

also those were the only panthers points scored that night and it made it a two possession game after the giants had been rushing and passing at will.

cam played a horrible game but you could tell it was going to be one of those nights when the giants rolled in for that touchdown on their first drive.

The media doesn't do Cam any favors, but he didn't help the situation with his post-game interviews and pouting on the sidelines. Also, doing Superman poses when we are losing by 30 to a team that is playing a bunch of back-ups, was icing on the cake.

Cam brings attention to himself and when you win they media loves you and when you lose they pile on.

Out of curiosity, and this is directed to anyone who reads this not you specifically, but how many times have you heard anyone rag on Arian Foster for doing is little karate bow thing when he scored when the Patriots were up like 45-7 and he scored last year? I never heard a peep, and that was televised and hyped as two AFC powerhouses going at it.

That's why the Cam bashing is completely unwarranted. It's over the top and venomously directed at his every move or gesture. I have found it better to bask in it now and give everybody the finger and embrace the role of villain for our QB. I've found I get much less agitated by it that way.

Edit: it was 28-0 when Foster scored with 9:49 left in the 3rd. Final was 42-14. My bad for the hyperbole.

when other fans would rip on jake and jimmy you could tell they just thought they were pathetic and didn't pose any kind of threat.  like they were picking on someone they felt was weaker than them, especially at the end of jake's career.

with cam though you can tell they hate that guy and the thought of losing to a team quarterbacked by him massively pisses them off.  he plays the villain role well and people love to hate him.

I've literally never seen jtm have anything good to say about the guy.

I am a Cam fan but people here live in a dream world some times. I try and be objective.

To answer the other poster ... see Panthers v Giants 2012 on Thursday night football. That game was an embarrassment.

Everyone here can defend Cam all you want, but his attitude in the first half of last year was unacceptable.

If you think Cam's demeanor and post game interviews last year after we lost were acceptable, then I really can't have a debate with you. We can just agree to disagree. This is why we all have opinions.

As an aside, I played collegiate sports on a full ride, so I know how much it hurts to lose.

We weren't down by 30....when he scored and FINALLY we had something we could build on....his TD technically made it a 2 score game

Peyton Mannings (demeanor and post game interviews) were worse. And he's a celebrated QB at the moment.

His brother Eli, was branded a cry baby, Country Bumpkin, and soft by his teammates and the press. The Giants had to actually ship out certain players, so Eli could gain the respect of his team. Did you hear about that? By the way; he's a celebrated QB to. And just did a video (to promote the NFL on cell phones) with his former--cry baby, big time brother QB.

Other guys have thrown teammates under the bus, and refuse to talk to the press/certain press members in Cam's situation. But he doesn't do that.

Even guys like RGIII Sulked, practically threatened his coach to play him, when injured, during the playoffs  (though they had more than a capable back up). He even slighted the back up during a press conference (insisting he should play anyway). But was a big deal made about any of this??

Other guys have gotten in trouble off the field. etc. etc. etc. We all know about that. Does Cam?

The point is [as Monsta was saying, and you're doing it to, indeed] is that Cam's actions are "overblown" compared to the coverage of other players doing the same thing, or worse than him. It's not about, whether Cam did something [or not] in your, or anyone else's really.

Newton just wants to win. And he's not the first player to act that way after losses. Thomas Davis cried after a loss last year (from all the losing). However, you barely heard about it; went practically unnoticed. Why?...... If that was Cam, he would have been slaughtered by the media (and Huddler's to) That's why there's a double standard. There just is.

I apologize, you are correct. We were done 23 -0 with around 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when we scored for the first time. Cam had every right to celebrate.

Good point...I agree that poor sport and pouting is what comes to mind when I think about Peyton Manning. His brother too....

This place is something....

Well, that TD was really the opportunity for us....if we were going to comeback THAT moment was the starting point. If we had then scored 16 more points in a quarter and a half.....no one would have thought twice about it.
