Anderson minus Chudzinski

I don't mind him.  At his essence, he's still a pretty good deep passer, and he was at about 50% passing despite all the misses with Ginn.   I don't mind not being able to run the option stuff with him, and so with our D, the best case scenario for our backup is a guy with a deep arm that can back safeties up enough to keep running the ball a crapload.  Which is about what we have.

Derek Anderson's best success has come during times when he's worked under Rob Chudzinski as an OC.  Away from Chudzinski though, Anderson's been up and down.  This past offseason, there was plenty of speculation he'd follow Chudzinski to Cleveland.  Most were surprised - pleasantly so - when he re-signed here instead.

After watching him the other night and reading some of the camp stuff, I wonder if not having him here this season will affect him.

Anderson's only a backup, and Newton has generally been durable.  There were, however, a fair number of 'slow to get up' plays as the season ran on last year.

So how comfortable are you right now with Derek Anderson as the backup QB?

If you're not, what could you suggest as a realistically viable alternative?

knowing that (for the most part) Cam felt hindered by the play calling then I can't really worry too much..  if DA was the future, perhaps so...  I feel more apt to believe Chud was quite a hindrance on the offense based on not just Cam but other comments from offensive players....

In other words, I'm good to go...  All day.

Didn't Anderson have the chance to go with Chud?  He chose to stay in Carolina.

He is a solid backup, with experience to help Cam.  All is good.

There were several quotes of him saying he intended to go to Cleveland and was excited about it. I'm not sure he chose to stay as much as didn't get an offer.

^ BANT!!!

I've been on here for years, and that's the first time that I've seen that.  It's kind of like the bozos that run out on the field, but act like they don't realize what's coming.

He'll get his few minutes of fame before the post is nuked into nothingness.

I am gonna check that site out though. LOL
