"Gettis back in the game" by Stickland @ panthers.com

I'd chalk up Ginn's struggles in the first game as more adjusting to a new team and offense.

Technically, without being on the field since before the preseason games in 2011... isn't that also what Gettis is doing? Remember there was no off season for him and that new offense either...

Not sure I'd go that far. Ginn Jr at least played recently, in the playoffs against green bay last season.

Really talk is irrelevant, Gettis knows more than we do that this is his sh*t or get off the pot year. Like Armanti.

Indeed. I think Gettis' pot still has a chill to it as he's not been back on it for awhile tho. LOL

I know we can't keep them all... but, I hope for the best for him.

Gettis is what he is.... a 6th round pick. nothing less nothing more. How long we gonna wish upon a star...

I suppose that it's easy to say that being what the reality is, but this 6th round pick put up numbers on par with other top rookie WRs in his draft class during their rookie year...and this playing in a highly questionable and fluid situation (on the field and on the sidelines).  Now I can't really fault you if you don't "wish upon a star", but I would think that you would at least wonder where this 6th round pick would be today, but for a torn ACL.

From a pure physical standpoint, including his speed, if Gettis can put it together, then we could turn out being the better value than either Dez Bryant or Demaryius Thomas. And, yes, at this point that statement may seem like me selling waterfront property on the Okefenokee, but G-man always said that some of the answers may already be on the roster. I want Gettis to be one of those answers in the worst kind of way, but I am loath to get my hopes up too high. All this doghouse talk (that I think you started) has taken its toll on my hopes in regards to Gettis. But, you can't keep a good man or wide receiver down.

I dont post much on here but I had to "LOL" at this. You definitely cannot be serious right?

Look, I'm a big Gettis supporter but that is a little unrealistic at the moment. Unless some crazy miracle happens, He'll never be the same on the same page as Thomas or Bryant ( I effin HATE the cowboys!!).

I understand you said "value" and not better overall player. Even if Gettis becomes a solid #3 WR  I'd still call Thomas a better value because he can take over a game single handed. I see it as being PRICELESS,  ala Steve Smith. What wouldn't GM's give to have drafted him..... Hindsight is always 20/20 though.

Rivera seemed very happy for Gettis in the post-game interviews. He was asked about both he and Armanti, and I expected him to praise Armanti and then just say a sentence about Gettis and move on. But he talked them both up pretty equally.

I hope Gettis puts it together and makes this team. I was a huge Gettis fan early on, but it hasn't looked to be in his favor. Starting last year and through out TC. I have had serious doubts about him making the team. I hope he proves all the doubters wrong (myself included) and continues to improve in the pre-season.

Hixon better get himself on the field he may start looking to be the odd man out if he doesn't.

Gettis just seems to be more of a game guy then a practice guy. He reminds me a lot of Delhomme in that aspect.

Except that Delhommedelivered on game day. Gettis has yet to do anything more than have a couple decent games as a rookie.

I hope that he succeeds as I love his size and speed. But to label him a game day player or compare him to Delhomme is laughable.
