Let's talk about that pick 6....

Recommended Posts

Telegraph pass, throw behind receiver, LB jumps route, catches ball and runs the other way as far as he can go.

All Cam Newton.

I don't think there is much to analyze. It's preseason, it doesn't mean much other than it was a really bad pass. I just wish they would have let him run another series. Preseason or not nobdody wants that to be their last play of the game.

Yep, bad throw. Went back and watched all cam's snaps again in slow mo. I think he's progressing in looking off his receiver's but still has times where it seems like he can't help himself. I definitely liked 95% of what I saw of cam. Footwork looked good, seemed to shift his weight when throwing.

Does it look like he tweaked his throwing motion a little from the past two years? Maybe it's just me.

Again, I love Cam too. I just refuse to think he is superman (despite his celebrations). He is human. He needs help. Cam is not Jesus. He cannot turn water into wine. And it is the kind of thinking eerily similar to Lebron and Cleveland. It does not work.

If you are going to put your limited resources in the defense. No problem. Just don't expect our offense to turn into the Falcon's. If we want that kind of offense we should have proceeded like the Bengals with Dalton. Cam is limited. Just like Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers. He needs every bit of help that those QBs need.

Great players need great pieces. Great players is not a license to surround said great players with ordinary talent and expect...championship!

We have decided to try to surround Luke Kuechly with such talent. I am therefore expecting Kuechly and the defense to be great, and to lead our team.

Even Superman needs help....Lebron needed help. He had the team in his back and was able to get to NBA championship. Lebron WAS Superman.....Clev just didn't give him the help he needed.

Cam needs help and our D hasn't aided him enough to get his wins. They need to help more but you are suggesting Cam needs to thus be handcuffed and a role player like you would if DA is your QB.

Defense just needs to get better. We will win if they do.

But if you want to hide Cam and just let the D play? We should suck.

Yes, they talked about Cam changing his throwing mechanics this offseason

Right because adding Greg Olsen and a better Lafell make it worse quit trolling newb.

I bet the Falcons, Saints, and Bucs are spending weeks preparing to face the great Olsen and Lafell!

How much you want to bet opponents spend more time preparing for the pieces surrounding Ryan, Brees, and Freeman than they do Newton?

If Clausen were to lead this exact same cast in 2013...I promise the offensive would be less productive. Adding Olsen and Lafell does not make up for an older Smith, Williams, and Stewart. And keep in mind we had Gettis in 2010.

They are spending there time worried about Newton...

But you don't count a player off to the greatest offensive start of anyone in NFL history in the equation....

Yeah, and the 2011 cast was weaker than the 2010 cast.

Yet the 2011 was historically good and the 10 historically bad. See, QB kinda impacts that O.

Stewart is 25 so old and the benchmark for running backs hitting the wall isn't age it's total touches and both Williams and Stewart are still fresh in that aspect seeing as they have split carries neither has had a monstrous workload like say Steven Jackson, we have some young weapons and they finally appear to be panning out get over yourself, mark this we will have a top 12 offense and a top 8 defense this season.

Steve smith is still productive as ever, the only aging player I'm worried about on offense is Jordan Gross.

You keep focusing on Newton. He is 1 of 11 guys on offense. Now he is the most important of those 11 guys, but nonetheless...1.

I kind of feel bad for you because you're expecting this explosive, high flying offense like the saints or the falcons but you are in for a major disappointment this year. Just don't blame Newton when we start averaging 17 points per game.

Bc 1 player matters greatly.

Again, 2010 supporting cast was better than 2011. 2011 was a historically good O....2010, historically bad.

I expect the offense to be what it has been overall through 2011 and 2012... but hopefully more consistant. I will be disappointed if it isn't that. I got no clue what you are thinking this O should be.

Didn't we have 2 yards?

We shoulda ran

On 3rd and 1/2, we need to put stewart tolbert in there and run. I know players execute plays, but saying Cam forced it to me is equally saying Shula tried to force it too

Neither Stewart or Tolbert played last night but come the regular season I don't have any doubt that will be the call.
