Official Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers Gameday Thread

Unless Adams can show he can play receiver he will be the odd man out, with holes in the secondary they will keep 6 corners before keeping 7 wide receivers.

they will keep 6 WRs and Adams will be #6. Give the kid time to show what he can do at WR. How many years has Armanti been here before showing anything whatsoever?

There is literally 0% chance Adams gets cut and I'd put $1,000 dollars in

A couple more punt returns like the one he had tonight and he's on this roster.

If tonight's game was any indication, Pilares looks like he's on the outside looking in.  I'd like to see Adams get some of those WR reps in the 2cd preseason game.  Gettis and Armanti did work tonight.  Hixon better get healthy because he may need to show something himself.

Adams had a 30+ yard punt return, he still has something to add to the team. Pilares has shown nothing at WR and nothing at KR.

I wouldn't say nothing. Pilares had the Panthers first KR TD in eight years back in 2011 and scored a receiving TD last year.

But yeah, if Hixon and Ginn are guaranteed spots, I would say that Pilares and Adams are gone with Gettis as the last man in.

I think you may be right. The only thing that might save him is the fact that 4 of the receivers contracts are up this year (I think)

Clausen was better than Anderson TONIGHT.

Come on, guys. Don't get carried away thinking that Clausen is now a good qb just because he threw a few decent passes against the Bears' 3rd stringers.

Before this game started fans were on here saying that Anderson was probably the best backup qb in the league.

Boy, do some of you get carried away emotionally.

Sorry, but clausen easily outplayed him tonight. It's one game so I won't draw too many conclusions, but for the horrid excuse of an oline clausen dealt with, he looked decent. Anderson looked like a high school qb playing with the big boys.

What's he done?

Pilares and Adams also have their special teams abilities going for them. The WR corps battle is the story of the preseason for the Panthers IMO. Smitty and Lafell are entrenched as the starters, but the rest of the depth chart is completely in flux the way I see it. Armanti and Gettis were the two who stood out tonight. Then you also have to consider Adams' nice punt return. Pilares stood out in a bad way.

He's been hurt but he was brought into be the number three wide out.

Adams can return the ball as good as he wants but that is Ginn's job, so unless he can play WR which Hixon has proven he already can in New York then he is gone.

Simple as that.

I don't know what you're arguing. I said he played better tonight.  I actually put it in all caps.

To be fair, Armanti stuck around because Hurney didn't want to own up to his mistake.  This is the first year that he seems to be making it based on his performance.
