I was robbed, violated....props to Wells Fargo.

I always leave my credit cards in my car in the DIN under the stereo receiver. It's just convenient.

Interesting, I used to leave my door unlocked too until my car stereo was stolen right in my driveway one night. They didn't take the credit cards, though.

Credit card protection is great though (debit accounts aren't as good but still fairly decent). I've disputed about 5 charges in the past (mostly online free trials charging me after cancellation) and every time I was reimbursed my money.

Theft is one of the many reasons I do not ever keep cash. Soon as I get it it goes to the bank.

Late posting this.  On Tues the detective called me with good news and bad news.  Good news..she knew who the person is who was using my card.  Bad news they have not found her yet.  Not as worried about the latter.  She will show up.  The detective spent Monday looking at the  store videos and she did a neighborhood canvas.  Before the day was over she has a warrant for the arrest of the person.

Glad she took my little crime (big to me, but I understand a lot worse happens every day) seriously, worked promptly and got it done.  Props to the Burke County Sheriff's Dept (never thought I would say that) and Detective Robinson.

They also used my cc this afternoon to make a payment on a Direct tv account.  I have contacted Direct tv...expect that to lead to a name.

That sounds like something we might hear on some stupid criminals show.  They might become famous, or at least infamous.  :)

Fwiw, I had a BOA credit card number stolen a few years ago.  The theif used it to purchased $2000 in tatoos from some raleigh tatoo shop.  I caught it before BOA did, but thats because I work in information security and tend to be a bit paranoid.  I check it just about every day.

Direct TV is being a dick about this.  Hope they respond to the police.  The direct tv system.....very frustrating to deal with....when you get a  live person....they cannot help.
