Ron Rivera's Training Camp MVP: Armanti Edwards

Recommended Posts

If you weren't so sensitive you would understand it was a joke. But while we're on the topic I would say LSUs and Texas AMs starters could both come in right now and compete with Mr. Clausen.

And no it wasn't remotely close to a this is how good App State is, that was the only example that would be obnoxiously false I could think of.

Personally, I like Clausen and think he is a good natured kid to have in the locker room. He has been really humble since day 1 and even though he played bad and is relegated to 3rd QB, hAsnt raised a finger.

My apologies

I've seen you posting about AE before, so I figured you were an App State fan.

The majority of App State fans are homers and though you might think that your post is a joke, many App State fans have made posts like that before (i.e. Armanti Edwards is a better QB than Newton).

So it's not really easy to decipher when an App State fan is being sarcastic or not when Armanti Edwards or their football team is involved in the conversation.

nancy is back!

No worries. I have decided people that can't put big boy words together and discuss topics.... and have to resort to one liners bc they can't engage in discussion will just be blocked. Feel free to do the same if you don't care to read my posts

could smitty show his age?

Could Cam regress?

could our o-line suck?

could our d-line not play up to potential?

could our rookie dt's struggle?

could ron suck ass in-game decisions?

could Shula suck like he did in tampa bay?

could deangelo never regain his previous form?

what is the point of being a panther fan and not be optimistic? There are questions everywhere.

There are literally two idiots (and I'm half convinced they are the same person), Hokebuck and Appfan70 (or whatever it is) that say stupid poo like that. It's just that you turds latch on to these idiot's statements and attribute them to all App fans.

He still slow as poo.

He's quickly and can change direction quick enough. With more playing time he won't have to run 90 yards for a TD. In 40 he runs a 4.4-4.5. Once he hits about 50 to 60 he definitely loses speed. One thing is though for the most part what you noticed at App was he is a smart guy when he has the ball. Punt returns aside, our coverage was pitiful, he had no experience, and he doesn't have the body to break those tackles. Catching in space and what he does before he gets the ball will give him chances though.

Difference is.... some view being a good fan is taking the optimistic view to any suggestion. You aren't a bad fan if you think those claiming

Clausen will light it up this preseason and we will trade him for a 3rd rounder should pump their brakes..

as for your list....I have defended Shula, Rivera, Cam etc to a host of "negative nancies"....as you put it. I am very optimistic on some issues, realistic on others. Negativity? Meh, most of that is you taking a stance and interpreting it how you want it. For example, saying we are weak at RG isn't a negative statement. More an opinion based on what has been largely shown and proven on a NFL field. Maybe your issue is I just don't share your views.

i'm not the only one saying it. it's just fun making fun of you. i don't have any ill will toward you. but the example of clausen is ridiculous.

the deal with armanti is that nobody has seen him play this well, people are stoked. then you come in and say "oh our secondary sucks, anybody can look good." when armanti is making catches that few on this team can make. he has been consistent, cam and him are building chemistry and people are looking forward to seeing him in preseason and are optimistic about what he can do.

Coverage wise?

I think they have to prove such a thing....before people keep saying that. Mitchell isn't a coverage guy...

After the Atl game Sherrod Martin actually started playing some pretty good football. He was our best S in coverage last year until he got hurt.

I would say from a run standpoint or blitzing stand point we improved at S.

CBs? Florence needs to prove he can do what he did years ago. He was available for a reason and didn't stick on some very weak rosters for a reason in recent times.....

I just don't see how we can claim we are better in coverage bc of signing Mitchell and Florence.....losing Gamble and Martin.

COULD we be better? YES. But they need to show that before we pencil all that in IMO. Lets see if anyone can come close to stopping Culter/Marshall at least Fri

We have added a few pieces this offseason and the young guys gained another years exp. Subtracting Naka and adding Mitchell, will improve our safties.

Gamble didn't play very well when he was out there. And the back end improved when he was out.

Cap played his ass off last year. On the outside and at nick.

IMO the secondary will be the area that surprises fans.

And BTW. Brandon Marshall was owned for 58 minutes the last time we played the Bears.

CRA doesn't realize that he's allowing himself to be a huge victim of confirmation bias. I guess AE is the only receiver out of the group that is able to take advantage of our poo secondary. Pilares, Adams, Ginn, Gettis, inexplicably can't.....they must really be fuging terrible.

He had 7 touches last year? Two big plays that led directly to points and helped seal wins in both games. Slow this slow that blah blah blah, fact of the matter is he was there, he had the ball, he and the rest of the TEAM put us in a position to win, and coincidently in those two games we did.

Sounds like a Belicheck guy so if he got cut I'd imagine that's the first place he would land.

..and probably make the pro bowl two years after that

not an App fan but I like the guys ability to hang on in spite of all the know-it-alld proclaiming him as a terrible pick.

Must be something they see.  Obviously everything we have heard from him has been nothing but the epitome of humility, respect for the game, and commitment to giving everything he has all the time.  What have you heard bad about the kid?  Ever?  A great stats year will be icing on the cake.  I consider this guy a role model and am proud to have him.
