Ron Rivera's Training Camp MVP: Armanti Edwards

Recommended Posts

I think he's going to do fine in the preseason and improve as the year moves on.  I'm not expecting 10 receptions tomorrow night, but I expect he'll have a nice season this year.

What kind of production did we get from that 3rd receiver spot last year?  I bet he beats that.

Just keep working hard Armanti, and for goodness sake I hope he has someone mowing his lawn for him now. Can't afford any setbacks.

What team picks up AE if he gets cut by us? You people are living in La-la land.

AE is the tallest midget, congratulations.

Nice guy, has a problem with lawnmowers, whatever.

If he went to Azusa Pacific, none, and I mean NONE of you would be defending this player.

UNLESS HE SHOWS HIS ASS ALL PRESEASON, HE IS WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS.

Let's talk in September.

When/if he proves me wrong I will eat something. My choice, not yours.

He would more than likely be picked up by the Pats. Julian Edelman is a former QB who Belicheck taught to play every position. I can only imagine what Brady would make out of Armanti.

If you think he wouldn't be picked up, you sir are crazy. He is a better reciever than The Golden Calf of Bristol is a quarterback, it could be argued he's a better QB than The Golden Calf of Bristol, he's just not Herculean .

Get over your hate.

T e b o w autocorrects to the golden calf of Bristol? That is awesome.

I'll go 0-0. Just because it is preseason and I'm not convinced of anything yet.

I'll happily jump on the bandwagon if he is our next stud.

You also said you would eat a jersey and become a sex offender by running naked in a football stadium if he did well, I'm guessing your hoping he fails. Your future depends on if Armanti helps this team or not.

The thing no one realizes is Armanti has won, Cam has won, jonathon Stewart has won. They all knew what it took coming out of college to win and hopefully that will translate. Two national championship winning QBs on our team, 3 national titles between them, what other team can say that?

CRA doesn't realize that he's allowing himself to be a huge victim of confirmation bias. I guess AE is the only receiver out of the group that is able to take advantage of our poo secondary. Pilares, Adams, Ginn, Gettis, inexplicably can't.....they must really be fuging terrible.

Ginn has done well against them....as has AE. The standards of Smitty, Olsen and LaFell have been damn good against them.

Gettis and Adams I don't believe get the same chances as the others in practice. They are playing with the 3rd team mostly I believe.

As Smitty would say, they have been collectively tappin it.

not as consistently as AE.

and doesn't that mean that Gettis and Adams are playing against 2nd and 3rd string corners? while armanti is playing our first team corners?

LaFell, Smith, Olsen, Armanti, and Ginn have all looked impressive.

Who is Gettis getting his reps with? and against then?

Ginn has made some impressive plays but with plenty of drops, much like his career at this point. I'm excited about how he can help us though.

Armanti has been catching everything. I've only heard one drop. And it was a tough catch.

Gettis has been getting reps with Cam, DA and Clausen, much like AE. He has been going up against our starters, our 2nd and our 3rd string CBs and has looked bad from reports.

Drops is a Ginn issue...plays that should of been made against a secondary.

Gettis hasn't gotten the same work as Armanti....unless you have some new reports. All WRs aren't working with the first string O equally.

All I am saying, is on paper.....we are very weak in coverage. We are weak on paper bc our guys have been weak in coverage on the field in real competition. Way to early to be penciling in AE as legit until he makes plays outside of our camp.

and it has been reported Gettis was only seeing time with 3rd and 4th string. Pretty sure even Zod posted on it as well

That sounds like a statement from someone who has never played a sport.

When Allen Iverson made that statement he was a veteran point guard with Philadelphia, not a 4th year receiver who is still learning the position he is playing.

You only get better through practice, and while AE needs to prove himself in actual competition; don't you think it's better that he actually looks good in practice rather than like a second round bust?

I'm responding late, but Armanti has been looking good every year, and every year he hasn't contributed much of anything on the field.  I like his route running, but that's about it.  Overall however, we don't have great defensive backs in our secondary.  So looking good against them in a controlled enviroment just doesn't speak much for me.  Let's see what he does on the field tonight.
