can't you make a rep carry the weight of the rep held by the poster giving it? one person = one vote is great irl but lends itself to that sort of abuse on forums.

 

a couple neg reps from good posters could blast a troll into next week, but a new troll would have to exhibit insane effort to neg rep established posters with any effectiveness (and allowing only one neg rep a day is one way to alleviate that.)

and i agree that the lack of iron-fisted modding is what makes this place special. if the occasional troll to bludgeon is the price to pay for a place like this then it's a small one.

Could you clarify the racism one for me? For example if the league makes a change to the Ronney Rule and someone makes a thread about it, is that a violation of the racism discussion ban since the Rooney Rule only exists to counterbalance institutional discrimination?

I get the intent based upon some of the more inappropriate posts, but I'm concern it will lead to an exclusion of race from any discussion which I would contend is not healthy for mutual dialogue.

Or to be more provacative, Only white people get to be colorblind.

Race has come up in the last 2-3 years because of Cam, and a lot of the discussion was relevant to football in how his race has contributed to the media perception. Banning racist idiots and insults is one thing but what about genuine football related race discussion? Or is racism over, kumbaya, thanks Obama?
