Clausen skipping passes to wide open WRs on smoke routes or two yard slants is directly the reason for the awful 2010. The lame duck Fox and noodle armed Clausen combo made me suicidal on Sundays.

He is not close to being a ready qb in the NFL. He has relished the best job in the NFL as a backup that is inactive on Sundays for two seasons...I want that job!

I will not be guilted into hating this jerk who I disliked in college n cannot stand as a pro.

A guy that enjoys laying back and being forgotten deserves zero praise. He does not complain bc he has a lack of fire that a guy like Jake Delhomme(ints n all) gets respect for.

I understand he has a lot of haters. But I think everyone should give the man props for class. Not what we expected from him...makes that even better.

He always seems to say the right things and does not try to draw attention to himself. He may not be a great talent, but I respect him.

We invested a second round draft pick in clausen. He thanked us by showing up fat and out of shape. When the owner of the team calls you doughboy that's not good.

You're right though he sucks with class, so he has got that going for him.

All of the Clausen brothers were good in college but never had the talent to make it in the pros.

I followed teh jimmeh's career at ND. Guy was a product of Weis and the talents of Michael Floyd and Golden Tate. He has no pocket presence, bad feet, and an awkward throwing motion with little arm strength to make up for it. Still don't know to this day why he was a #1 recruit.

I do give him props for maturing as an individual though. He was highly regarded as an immature douche at ND.

No matter how anyone here feels about Clausen, Cam genuinely likes the guy and they have a good working relationship. There's a lot of terrible QBs in the league who would have made a stink about getting demoted, or made themselves a distraction. And no matter how awful people may imagine him to be, he'd still destroy 99.999999% of the planet at quarterbacking. And no, that number of decimal places is not an exaggeration, unless you can name 7000+ quarterbacks that are better than Clausen.

"doughboy" came from having a muscle-less physique, not from being fat.

I've met and talked to Jimmeh 3 times now. while I won't defend his QB "skill," I will say he does not deserve the douche reputation at all

That was his college signing day at Notre Dame, you know, after high school..... not the pros...

Amazing how little class some of you show.  You blame the entire 2010 season on Clausen yet give Cam all the leeway that he doesn't have all the tools to succeed. 

 

God knows it was a tough season in 2010 to watch.  But lets not forget Fox didn't want to play him and it wasn't until Moore went out that he finally gave in.  We had the worst offensive coordinator to ever wear the title and yet it was all Jimmy's fault. 

 

Last year and this year I would like us to go to a 2 QB roster which would mean good bye Jimmy. However, I have never been so childish to say anything derogatory about him. 

 

The guy has changed his motion and is now throwing the hardest ball in camp.  This isn't Madden.  Once a player gets his numbers they don't change.  The man has been behind Cam and Anderson going on his third season.  Grown up and matured. 

 

Maybe some of you should grow up too and get over 2010.   It wasn't all Jimmy's fault.

 

I truly hope he finds a team that will give him another look.

Any other team would have cut Clausen years ago.  Worse than any back up QB in the NFL I would imagine.

Clausen has that weird little attitude about him that makes it hard to like him.  At training camp he was nice enough to be the only player to not pass by my wife and I to sign my son's jersey.  I told him I really appreciated him signing for my son.  He did not speak, look at, or acknowledge us in any way.  He was not overtly rude, but when he left thats how it felt.

It's hard to place a single, overarching label on Jimmy regarding his failure to excel. He got a crappy situation his rookie season.

Personally, is love to see him kill it in preseason and get us some value when assume other qb goes down for the season.
