Panthers Sign Chris Scott and Ricardo Silva, Gaydosh To IR

i'm sure you were probably saying that last year before we got dwan.

what we have isn't good. you're being gracious to call it average. i'm not underrating that right side, esp. RG. we don't have much in the way of talent there.

once again..that is the exception. Not the rule.

If they are truly goung to upgrade the talent at RG, they have to trade, or spend more than vet mim.

then what's the plan?

go with what we've got? we better hope we have something fall into our laps because going with who we have isn't a good option.

that said, i still maintain that the bar isn't set too high with garry. it won't be hard to find an upgrade. i'm not talking about dwan level. i'm talking about average talent. someone will be cut and willing to just take a job for a year. it's better than the alternative. there will be some cap casualty that comes along that will be to our benefit.

what we have right now is "diamond in the rough" enough. i'd rather just find someone that knew what he was doing and didn't get pushed around.

I just don't want us to be content with what we have because we're being frugal. I've had enough of that.

no. the exception would be that williams is better than some guy we can pick up for vet min later. you are overrating the talent we have on that side.

we don't need to settle. we don't have to settle. if they didn't have their mind set on being able to pick someone up in the near future, it's likely that they wouldn't have cut hangartner loose at this point. if we go with who we have without a backup plan, we are settling. i can't believe that we can't find someone better when the first or even second set of cuts come. we don't have much talent on that right side. it won't be difficult to upgrade what we have and if it's important enough to do (which i hope that protection cam is important) then we'll spend a little more for someone with some quality.

not sure why you think we'll be going cheap or finding someone that's better than who we have. sounds like you don't have any confidence in gettleman's ability. why so negative?

where is your confidence in gettleman's ability. He likes Gary Williams. Williams was apart of the line that played well down the final stretch.

Why isn't williams unable to continue to improve/develop?

I'm not settling for anything.

Players develop. I'm ready to see Williams step up.

Do we need a backup plan? Definitely.

Can Gettleman find us someone tgat can plug in and instantly be an improvement over Williams?

Not without spending some cash.

Wharton and Moore already stated they won't play for vet mim.

They may change their minds. They may not

I'm also not going to sit here and think that some teams cut will be better than we currently have. That isn't probable. Possible, but not probable.

Maybe Gettleman will be able to work a trade.

Who knows.

Depth is weak, that I completely agree.

Williams very well could be our guy.

But nobody will even give the chance, cept Gettleman. That's good enough for me at this moment.

Does anyone know why the Panthers did not try to sign Wharton?  Is it because he is not healthy, he wants too much money, or they decided he was no better than what we have?

Most of us are talking about the concern on the right side, and for very good reason, but I'm not sold on the left side either.  It is a good thing Cam is a mobile QB.
