And I am a HUGE Cam supporter. That is one of the reasons I am a big Rivera supporter as well.

 

There have been plenty of exceptions, so don't even attempt to act like this would be the first time that some unspoken rule would be broken. Generally when a GM is replaced, it's because the team sucks and usually, by extension, their current starting QB is garbage or average at best. However, on multiple occasions a new GM and/or coaching staff has taken over and retained QB's - it's just that it only happens with solid QBs. I'm sure that you realize (I know that you do), that Cam is far from garbage. Gettleman isn't going to go down ANY path that diverges from Cam as our future starting QB, unless he takes a major nose dive or has some MAJOR off field issue - neither of which are very likely to happen.

Y'all know Garry played RG for us during the last 6 games last year when we were playing our best football, right?

Pretty sure I recall Cam coming up slow three of those games. Right side is the side responsible for the defender rolling his ankle vs the Saints.

Oh my God people. SHUT UP. We haven't even played one pre season game yet. Relax. Where are we supposed to find a decent guard at this point? Give it some time and let teams start releasing players and doing some rosters moves. Damn don't get all your panties in a wad

Well, there are already two good Guards in FA, Moore and Wharton. Please tell me when do teams EVER let go of a good guard during cuts? Line depth is important to teams, but not us it seems.

One thing is for certain...

The guards getting released after cuts are not going to be even remotely close to the talent that Brandon Moore is.

I wouldn't be surprised if we picked up another guard after cuts, but I'm willing to bet that Garry Williams is the starter day one.

It's clear that Gettleman is all about saving money for next year. In my opinion, that was the reason that Hangarter was cut, not to be replaced but for cap purposes.

Like Floppin said, the only reason there's a pattern of new GMs bringing in new QBs is because usually when a team is bad enough to need a new GM/coach that means the QB is bad too.  I don't think you'll find many examples of new GMs replacing a young record breaking Pro Bowl QB. 

 

One example from Gettleman's own neck of the woods, when the Giants brought in Jerry Reese to be their new GM he didn't replace Eli.  He was rewarded for his faith with two Super Bowl rings.  And Eli's career leading up to the new GM was much worse than Cam's.

- Cam isn't going anywhere by Gettleman's doing. Newton would have to play worse than Mark Sanchez last year... for two years in a row! CRA, stop overracting. That's not going to happen.

- One of Gettlemania's strengths is pro-level talent evaluating. Don't start the doom talk (same ol' same ol'; he doesn't know what he's doing) just because you're fearful of who was brought in, and who was released. G-Man knows when to let go of talent and find a replacement to plug in. At the end of the day, I trust the pros, not the amateurs.

Calm the fug down people.
