Panthers Sign Chris Scott and Ricardo Silva, Gaydosh To IR

i'm perfectly fine with cutting piggy and letting garry williams be his replacement as long as we bring in someone who can legitimately compete for a starting job.

Might not happen till final roster cuts or week two.

That may not be soon enough for the impatient among us but final cuts is when we got Dwan Edwards.

Jesus, all the players think it's the time to do something.  But what about the GM?  Do they really think Gary Williams is the answer right now?  I mean, come on.

So are you 100% sure that Gary Williams isn't the answer?  You are saying that the GM and coaching staff are effectively writing off the season by playing Gary Williams?

assuming somebody cut that late is an older veteran, i'm not as concerned with his ability to jump into the lineup off the bat without the benefit of working with our guys for weeks on end. experience will negate the impact of a sudden change, as it often does. if this is the case, reps for garry williams can only help.

that said, waiting until week two would be a huge mistake unless garry williams magically turns into an oustanding player during preseason. we need momentum right off the bat. a week one loss is not an option.

While I'm not a big Garry Williams fan, I'm also not ready to assume that him starting week one automatically means a loss.

That said, my expectations for this year's starting right guard is an older one year stop gap along the lines of Keydrick Vincent in 2008.

I think the full 'fill in the gaps' treatment for the offensive line comes next year. They addressed the defensive line this year. Next year it's the other side if the foundation.

Granted, I'm not a GM but don't you think they should bring in someone that can challenge him at least?  Or something.

I figured the bigger story behind this was that Gaydosh got cut for this guy and some Safety from the Lions.  When I tried to load up the huddle and kept getting server busy messages I figured something big must have happened to crash the huddle, then when I saw on an inferior site that Gaydosh got cut I figured his bandwagon must have blown up the board.
