How comfortable are all of you with Garry?

The only anxiety here should be waiting to hear when we are going to be signing some guards and who they are.  We surely are not going to be going into the season with who we have.  Gettleman is the hog molly guy.  That means on both sides of the ball.  After he did what he has to fix the D line, can you doubt he isn't going to try and fix the O line.  And if he is a professional scout by experience, wont he be bringing in a few guys?  Likely those players might not be well known but I hope they are solid.  I can't say Gettleman has done anything wrong so far .

He built a damn fine Oline for Eli Manning and the Giants at the cost of a bag of peanuts and a partially eaten sandwich.

The right side of the line WILL be good enough to work with.  That either means our solution is already on the team or it will be on the team for week 1.  The one thing Rivera has been good at during his tenure here is identifying under appreciated players on other teams.  Between him and Gettleman, an affordable solution is in the works.

Several changes are yet to be made.

Panthers were not that active in off season.

Pretty darn active given the cap mess we were left with. We signed Blackburn, DJ Moore, Drayton Florence, Ted Ginn and Hixon.  We also made paycuts and restructures across the board and didn't lose a single player who had any value.

tbh, it was kind of offensive.

having done work with poor kids in third world countries and seeing what they go through daily, i don't see stuff that makes fun of their situation being all that funny. pretty bad taste, imo.

Well that's pleasant. I definitely could have gone without seeing that picture top dawg.

WTF bro

It's a ritual of tribal Dinka people of Sudan. They actually wash their hair in urine to turn it orange, as they like the look. Adults do the same thing. So actually, it being exploitation of children is incorrect.  It's a cultural thing that is done voluntarily (unlike, perhaps, some others which may be "voluntary" but are done under peer pressure or threat of being labeled a pariah).  Now, of course you or I wouldn't do this being that we are from our westernized, "superior", culture. But, to each his own. Sometimes, offensiveness, taste, and/or unpleasantness is in the eye of the beholder, but in the end, who are we to judge? Just food for thought.  Not trying to be so much funny as to make a poignant point about this Williams situation.

BTW, you might be interested to know that Manute Bol probably did the same thing as he came up in tribal culture (pre-America, of course). Luol Deng is also Dinka, but he moved to Britain when he was eight (his father got political asylum).

When there is little drop off from Jangmsn to Williams, you don't keep Hangman around at almost $2 million per season.

And when the drop off from Hangman to any other backup is substantial, you don't cut them in a season when you are trying to make the playoffs. We've lost at least one starter off the o-line every season since 03, and our backups are random nobodys. If we just cut Hangartner to save 1.5 million, then it was stupid because it means that somebody like Kugbila or Byers will be forced to start this season.
