Panthers Release Hangartner

He was a joke as a run blocker last year, not surprised by this move.

I'm guessing Gettleman had this move in mind after studying tape from last season but decided to bring Hangman back to camp 1) Until he was sure Kalil's foot had healed well and 2) to see if Hangman had anything left in the tank.

We're obviously very interested in Wharton but he didn't want to sign for vet minimum, so we just cleared up a little more cap space for him.

I'd expect to hear an announcement any minute now that Wharton has agreed to terms and then I'd expect to see us slide Silatolu over to RG (since by all accounts he our most powerful OL) and plug Wharton in at LG.

have not read all posts on thread, but I was just out cruzin' through town in my 74 Gremlin ST, the one with the AM radio, and Joe Person was on WFNZ.  He sounded as if Kugbila is the man, that the coaches want to press the younger guys.

Gross: "I hope management knows what they are doing."

Person also said that the one name that sticks out, the best G free agent available is also a possibility--Travelle Wharton.  (Does that not contradict something he said over the weekend?)

All of the above is true, except the Gremlin part.  I do not own one, but one can dream.

You're getting a Pacer, and you will like it. Or else.

That reminds me---My father (when I was 16) had the final say so about my car.  Had to be safe.   He took me to see a used Pacer.  He said, "This thing has good visibility."  I did not know what he meant, and I responded, "Dad, what makes you think I want people to see me driving a Pacer?"

I had the same thought, but then I started trying to look at it from Gettlemen's perspective:

1. You don't cut a starter until you have his replacement.

2. He wanted to see how along Kugbila has come; the failure of Kugbila to get time on the field could have delayed his decision.  Remember, Gettlemen has to consuder the contract length and amount.

3. Some players play an entire season injured.  We know nothing about Hangman's injury situation, so maybe Gettlemen was auditioning him.

Just guessing-which is what makes this fun.  However, I said a few days ago, now is not the time--wait until there is more talent out there (after cuts).  I think we must have signed a good player.  Wharton is the obivious pick, but Moore is the sensible pick.  Heck, sign them both and play Wharton at RT.

Well here is a good look at Kugblia and yes I am 6ft 200lbs as earlier stated on another thread.

We don't. We are in so much trouble next year. We are right at cap without  resigning

Derek Anderson, Bruce Cambell,Colin Cole, Domenik Hixon,

Captain Munnerlyn, Jordan Senn, Jason Williams, DJ Moore,

Bell, Florence, Ginn, Gross, Mitchell, Lafell and Hardy.

The 13 million we carry over has to go towards their resignings. Hell, Hardy and Lafell alone will eat up that 13 mil or close to it.

It could. Or it could be he knew Hangman had the best chance to jump onto another roster so he cut him early in hopes someone signs him soon.

We were at cap this year and we generated 12 million in space pretty easily. The NFL Salary cap is not a big deal unless you do some Al Davis type stuff for multiple years.

I'm guessing you didn't buy it? You know you want this car..
