So explain to me how we're going to sign Moore or Wharton on a vet minimum contract, while sending them a message that we aren't interested and our primary focus is on our young players.

like I said before Moore will not sign on vet minimum. no way. he's too good.

 

Wharton will get vet minimum or a little bit more.

You pay guys BIG when they earn it and you show that to everyone . . just like JR did. YOu show them youre not cheap, you show them your players (like Smitty) are open minded and will help if you come play here. Voila, Ginn and Hixon show up after 10 years of not getting anyone but Keyshawn.

The idea that an out of work NFL veteran would not sign with a new team (given the right $) because the coach publicly supported the young guys is crazy.

As Rum said, these guys are pros. I think they're long past having their feelings hurt.
