I expect big things from the wideouts this season. Its the first time in a while we don't have rookies learning playbooks right now, but guys going into contract years.

When I went to Spartanburg on Sunday, I came to the conclusion that LaFell suffers from Peppers syndrome.

I know someone will take this the wrong way, so I'll explain best I can. He makes good plays look effortless. Not a bad thing - he just looks natural and comfortable and can easily fly under most teams' radars.

if there was ever a convenient time for lafell to rise up as a top-half #2 receiver in the league it's now

I've always liked Lafell,  i don't think he will ever make the jump to a #1 WR role though,  he reminds me so much of Muhsin Muhammad big strong not so fast, blocking WR with decent catching ability,  who will hopefully have a long career like Muhsin Muhammad.

is he going so hard in TC because it is a contract year for him should be the question. are the panthers willing to pay him like Mike Williams and Brain Hartline who are good #2 WRs.

I am a Lafell fan. I was hard on him last year, but I know this dude is talented and has what it takes.

 

I'm expecting big things from him this year.

Is it noticable that LaFell is playing on the outside more this TC? Or should we still expect LaFell lining up more in the slot than Smith?

 

 

not at all. LaFell is much better for the outsides, while Smitty could be fantastic in the slot

Can't help but think LaFell is only looking good due to our poo secondary.

 

Don't think LaFell could be a #2 myself, unless we play Foxball. In today's league he just seems to slow and cannot get any seperation.

 

I guess we'll see, I'm going to have to to believe it.

He's no burner but LaFell got away from coverage a lot last year. He also was on the longest Panther pass in history.

You should pay attention to what is going on at camp this year....the secondary is actually playing quite well.

Lafell gonna go ham this year, I said it a month ago that Lafell would lead this team in reception yards. Yeah you heard it here first from ya boy YOLO! Lafell is in a contract year, he will go beast mode because he wants a big contract. He's gonna be a breakout player this year. I see him sporting the black visor, he sending messages that he is gonna take Smitty's spot as the #1 wr.

Wouldn't Olsen also be considered our #2 receiver even though he's a tight end? I guess talking strictly receivers Lafell is our #2 but I've considerd Olsen our #2 since he arrived here. If Ginn, B. Williams and Barner carry over their performances into the regular season, that's a hell of a lot of weapons to go along with D. Williams, Smitty, Olsen, Lafell and Stewart.
