The "now's the time" players

People always talk about the 3rd year for a player being the 'breakout' year - they've had plenty of time to adjust their minds and bodies to the game. If you look at an NFL roster any player with 4 or more years in the league is either a starter or fulfills some sort of niche. So even if a player doesn't breakout during their 3rd year it's still the most important year for most players.

The Panthers have some interesting players coming into their 3rd year. I've somewhat tried to order them in terms of importance to the team, but that's highly objectionable.

Jon Beason - Already a stud, very promising career ahead of him, this year could be the year he breaks off as the undisputed best MLB in the league, he's just basically playing to prove how badass he is.

Ryan Kalil - Very solid starter, he just needs to keep on doing what he's been doing

Rhys Lloyd - Keeping 2 kickers is far from ideal, he needs to get better at kicking field goals or his career could be very short despite his booming kickoffs

Charles Johnson - has made great strides, if he progresses like he has been he'll be a good starter for years, if he regresses or stays the same he runs the risk of turning into a journeyman type player(though I don't think that'll happen)

Dwayne Jarrett - this is the big one, this is his make-or-break year, it's hard to predict what might happen to him if he doesn't produce this season - at best he'd continue to get chances from his potential - at worse he plummets to a TC fodder type player

Dante Rosario - hard guy to judge, he'll be invisible and then come out of nowhere with a great play, seems to have played well enough to be pretty safe but he needs to have more of a consistent impact on the offense

Ryne Robinson - it's unfortunate that he was put on IR last year as he was really progressing fast towards the end of his rookie year, I think he's the penciled in starter for return man but he'll have to prove he's worthy of that in TC as well as push for that 3rd receiver spot over Jarrett.

CJ Willson - the other DBs seem to think he can make an impact, seems he'll get his opportunity this year lets see what he makes of it

Quinton Teal - could be a ST ace in the making, he needs to focus on that because he won't crack the starting safety lineup barring injury

Jason Carter - IIRC he was a fan favorite last year during TC but nothing really happened, he needs to make an impact on ST or he could be out of the league

Matt Moore - has potential but things don't look too great for him in Carolina being behind McCown but then again we had Testaverde playing a couple years ago, he really needs to impress in the preseason

I think I got every 3rd year player. Thoughts?

You have penetrated me. There is no escape. You are within me. Come into my center. Come into the center of the crystal!

Why do you feel the need to post this mental masturbation at the beginning of a very promising thread? You could have put it as Post 100+ of the CarolinaRolls Ego Futility thread. There it would have fit right in, here you're just a dork
