Carolina Panthers Brandon Williams #2 TE?

So I see there is a lot of interest in Brandon Williams. From what I have witnessed, I think his stock is rising. He has shown really good hands and has caught most things that has come his way. But as a #2 TE the question also is how is his blocking skills.

 

So here are a couple of pics and how he did today 1 on 1 versus two quality linebackers.

 

First up, Senn.

 

 

Senn didn't have much progress as all versus Williams. Once Brandon got his mits on Senn's numbers, it was over. There was no way Senn was going to power over him. Advantage - Williams.

 

Next was Jason Williams

 

Jason tried a spin move, and again was shut down by Brandon. Brandon stuck with Jason the entire way, keeping him out of range of the QB.

 

So considering this guy has been completely out of football for a while, only playing basketball, I think what he has shown on the field to be pretty remarkable. He is at the very least holding his own against legit NFL defensive players. Imagine a year from now!

Dude is chiseled out of stone. I remember Smith talking him up on WFNZ this summer as somebody to watch.

Am I the only one blown away by his physical presence? Dude is one of the most ripped and massive football players I have seen. If this is Williams rusty and just getting back into football, we best keep him on board and let him reach that ceiling of his. Dude could be great if he stays healthy. Match-up nightmare.

Good news. We need another talented TE to pair with Olsen, and no I'm not talking about Hartsock.

Not sure it'll happen but I wouldn't mind Olsen getting a day off so we can see what Williams brings to the table running with the 1s full time.

But in all seriousness, I really hope this guy succeeds. Of all the camp guys the huddle has loved over measurables/potential (the Lamont Bryants, the Bruce Campbells, etc.) I think Williams has the best chance to succeed.

Great story, and he appears to have an excellent work ethic, and appreciation of education. 

 

Every one marvels at his body, strength and athletic ability. 

 

I hope he makes the team, stays health and is a contributor. 

 

He should only get better, as he gets more experience, in shape, and the system piece down.
