Carolina Panthers Training Camp Update - 7-30 - Improved Taste!

Zod, have you noticed a difference in atmosphere down there?  Haven't been yet this year but the last 2 years were definitely a lot more lax with Rivera than some of the brutal camps Fox used to run (especially early on).  From a fan's perspective, I miss the 2 a days b/c it usually meant you were going to see the pads at least once.

2008 was the last training camp I went to that really seemed tense.  Of course, the Smitty/Lucas fight was an offspring of that but so was a 12-4 season...

I'm more interested in how Cam bounces back from a rough day than I am him actually having a rough day. See how quickly he can forget/learn from it and move on.

Good point.

If they come back and the headline reads

Cam came out and put on a show today, I would actually raise my expected wins for the season.

this, and see what the other guys do to step up and make it easier/better for their QB.

not so sure I like the fact that Barner was holding his own against Luke.  cmon Luke!

i love it because luke's studliness is well documented and accepted. this can only mean good things for barner.

this is two big criticisms of barner addressed really well in a short amount of time. his running upright and blocking. i think he was well worth the pick even without those and would have been a very lethal weapon without them as well, but this only makes his pick more valuable.

A rookie runningback holding his own against the current defensive rookie of the year? Uh... I love it.

Shows me that Barner is already showing signs that he can contribute early if he keeps it up. Keep adding pieces to the puzzle.

The lack of follow-through on Cam's throws today seems to support the notion that some arm fatigue has set in... that's usually the first thing to go when your arm is tired.

Shaun King said practice # 4/5 is usually when that shows up, so the timing of the day off tomorrow is perfect.
