I agree...wins are wins.  You get a schedule and you have to win at least 9-10 games to be in contention for the playoffs.  Thats it...doesn't matter how much you win by or whether those are "quality" or not.  Just W's and L's.

You do realize that KC game was a gimme sympathy game from the NFL right?  Not a single penalty was called on them until late in the game when they had a delay of game (which is an unavoidable call) and they were holding (hell many times they straight up tackled our defenders) like a crack dealer outside a rehab center.

 

This is actually a very common trend in the NFL after a player dies.  Dallas was given the same treatment against Cinci after their team death as well.  Somebody actually posted the amount of penalties called on a team after a team tragedy over the past decade and based on the stats... well its definitely not a coincidence.  No the NFL doesn't fix the games, but I'm sure they tell the refs to not make any calls they don't need to.

 

Remember, the NFL is a business first.  The feel good story rolls in publicity and $$$.

At the end of the day, all that matters is the W... I am very surprised that our record in games decided by 7 or less is brought up as much as it is. Does it matter that we almost beat ATL twice? Nope, 1-1 is whats remembered. Does it matter that there were 3 bad calls in 1 football minute against Dallas? Nope, Dallas won, thats all that matters.. They dont speak of who we played, just that we went 5-1 in our last 6....

No one who actually watched our team last year can honestly say we werent a completely different team down the stretch. Cam played great the D got to the point where i didnt roll my eyes every time they came on the field...not to mention the confidecne and resilience we showed down the stretch we responded to teams instead of tucking our tail between our legs! Down 11 to the Saints, earlier in the year you could have packed up the cleats then and there! Effort turns to confidence, confidence turns to swagger, we played with confidence now its time for swagger....i can barely sit still im so excited!!!
