7-29 Camp Thread

Recommended Posts

Well thought out post my friend.

Being overseas these tweets and comments are all I get.  It is painfully obvious our OL is not preforming as I had hoped.

The question is do you grab a guy like Moore or wait for a player that didn't make someone elses squad.  Seems the latter would be going from the frying pan into the fire.

Thanks bro.  I think you pay Moore what he wants for a year.  There are not too many quality free agents out there at any position, but here you have a top 5 free agent at G and G is your biggest need.  In fact, this team could be special with a decent RG.  I offer him $4-5 million for a one-year deal.  It does not hurt your ability to re-sign Hardy or to pay Cam.

The only other viable solution to me is a trade--a backup who loses the battle for a job but is quality.  We can offer a solid nickel (Moore), a WR like Pilares or Adams.  A late round draft pick.

No fixation, just had not heard anything and just wanted to see where he was at...  Ton of news on all the other WR's and nothing on him...  Its all good with the rant was just interested...

AE found a cure for cancer

AE brokered peace in the Middle East

AE designed a car that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds, but gets 72 miles per gallon - using rain water as fuel.

AE makes an unbelievable catch in practice . . .

AE - looks like this will be his year. . .

Take away his 82 yard reception and he is averaging 1.3 catches per year for an average of 1.1 yards per game.

If he doesn't make it, someone should be able to make up the forty inches or so of slack on game day.

Having said that, I have no idea how we'll make up for the total 36 yards of punt returns he had in his 35 games or the pass he has completed once every 17 games.

At least we won't have to replace his scoring - he has the same number of TD's that I do.

Sorry for the rant - just don't get the fixation people have.

The 4-5 million I could go along with.  The trade thing only helps if that player would be hot on the market.  Most teams know if you are offering a player they can hold out and wait till you drop him.  So really the only thing a trade does at this point is give that team first dibs on that player.

Make sense?

Sure it does.  Moore must be wanting a ridiculous amount.  I read recently, however, that the Lions and the Dolphins were the only teams who talked to him.  I am sure there were more, unless the rest of the league thought, "He is crazy."  and moved on.

Then the word was sent out that he was retiring--do not know where that came from--but if he put it out there, it could be to let teams know he was available, but not on the cheap.  I dunno.

Gettlemen is a patient man.  I think it is time to make a move though.

I am with you on that. Make the move.

I think this time is critical for chemistry and if we are going to bring a starting guard in I want him to know and trust who is beside him right away.

That said Moore is a good veteran so it wouldn't take him as long.

I just like the chemistry building now and not into the season.
