7-29 Camp Thread

Not getting into a pissing match. I offered what I think is a civil, simple bet. If you're confident accept it. If not, then oh well, move on. I'm not emotionally vested either way...

Pissing match? wtf , whos pissing where? This was going to be fun and now your backing out after one itsy bitsy lil thing. Jesus overreact much? Pantera, just. . read what I said again ok? Take it slow and easy please. I said I hope Gettis makes it, I think he has the tools, and he has to be mentally ready. I dont think "he's definitely going to make the team!", I think its around 50-50 right now since we dont have poo to go on and he knows our offense pretty well at this point.

YOU and Chicken Little want to make the call after one play in TC, not me. YOU want to initiate a bet. Here are my terms and here you are. . . smh. I'll stop there cause I certainly dont want to call you names and I dont think youre an annoying poster. Youre blowing this up into something its not. Im the one with rational judgment on Gettis here is what youre starting to realize. . . and now you want out after speaking up when you shouldnt have.

You want the bet? fish . . on. . . yo. .  head.

The Gettis hate on here comes from the spurned by a hot chick phenomenon.  So many young WRs with promise have come through and failed us (Colbert, Jarrett, Carter) that many are quick to write off the next young WR with promise at the first sign of a hiccup.  Like a guy dumping his new hot girlfriend over something small because he sees it as a sign of the relationship going down the drain like the last time.

Gettis believers stay strong!  Let the haters wallow in their negative perspective!

On a more serious note, If Gettis can just get some game time and some passes thrown his way I think he'll show what he can do.  Some people are practice players and can't do poo in games (Armanti) and some people show up more in games than in practice. I'm more inclined to believe that Gettis is one of the latter.

The 49ers remind me of the Jets from a few years ago. They were a powerhouse because of a truly dominant defense. Their defense has taken a step backwards, and with Crabtree out for the year and Kyle Williams still hurting, they are using Vernon Davis at WR and don't have much else. I predict they will take a step back this year, that we will beat them at their place, and that I will be stabbed during, or shortly after that game by a pissed off SF gangbanger. Guess what bitches, its gonna take more than a knife wound to the neck to bring down ol uncle montsta.

To be sure this post is training camp related, I'd like to say it seems our front 7 will dominate based on early camp reports, and that our secondary will provide our offense with many more opportunities due to doubling our takeaways from last year. Panthers SB Champs.

It's funny because this team reminds me of the 49ers from a couple of years ago. Nobody expected that team to be any good and they ended up a play away from the super bowl.

I don't even hate Gettis. Just as I stated above I hope he makes (means he earned it) I just don't think its going to happen. I was on the Gettis bandwagon from day one. I think he may have regressed from his rookie year. If he blows up i'll gladly eat crow. I honestly believe he would've been IR'd last season if Pilares didn't get injured and that Ron and Co don't believe in him.

What makes you think he's regressed?  We have nothing to make such a judgement from.  The only evidence that exists is Rivera's refusal to play him last year and Rivera has already proven himself incompetent at judging WRs (Legadoodoo, Murphy).  I'm more willing to trust what I saw Gettis do with my own eyes, even if it was over 2 years ago, than Rivera's judgement on which WR should be seeing the field.

You!. . better be thankful I didnt sig bet you with those same details regarding Beason and Williams contracts.

I wouldn't of had a fish on my head yo....they both reworked them. I only said Williams would not continue with his current deal....rework or he would be cut. It was reworked. Props to Gett on Beason. I didn't think he could get Beason to budge until NEXT season.
