Is Jon the son of Rhaegar and Liana (sp?)?

 

I think so, but want to get others opinions.

Hmmm....  I'm 2/3 finished with DwD and I haven't seen anything about that... yet.

 

At this point, nothing would surprise me however....

 

 

I was assuming that Jon was actually Eddards bastard, but maybe with a Targaryen.

Yeah that was a good read and had some of the same thoughts I had.  I'm convinced that Jon is Rhaegar and Lyanna's child.

There's definitely evidence that supports this and most hardcore readers agree this is the only outcome but Martin could change it at any point so no one knows for sure. If you were asking me I personally believe he is Lyannas but that's just me

I haven't really looked at this type thing yet as I'm not quite finished with ADwD and I didn't want to see any spoilers but it's got a lot of info...

I'm not totally sold that Jon is R+L... but I don't discount the possibility...

 

It is rather convenient, and something an average fantasy writer would do to make the main characters separated by a long distance be somewhat related and have the end game = them meeting and conquering the evil of the land...

GRRM isn't an average fantasy writer. He's dropped a lot of clues that would glaringly point to R+L=J, but I wouldn't put it past him to make it the complete opposite of what people want to believe.

It makes sense on a lot of levels, sure... but I'm not locking anything in until it is revealed in the books...
