Near perfect ending

A couple of observations....

I loved how they flashed to Jesse, building a wood box....I believed it for a few seconds and was like damn, Jesse is a nazi. Then it flashes to his miserable excuse of a life, chained up, cut up, cooking meth!

Also I thought when he went to the lab after he was shot and everyone was dead he was either going to

1) smoke the blue crystal

or

2) cook one last batch

I'm sad, going to miss it. I am def not going to watch Better call Sal hoping it will be on the same level with the story/writing.

I still remember the episode where Mike went looking for Chow. It was so bad ass.  Having Mike to clean up for Saul would be a nice touch.  Even if it doesn't fit the history of Breaking Bad I wouldn't mind them bending the rules to have as Saul's clean up guy.

I think Mike was Saul's PI.  Mike worked for Gus but it seems he was more of an independent contractor.

I thought for sure he was going to smoke it too.

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso,

I fell in love with a Mexican girl.

Might-time would find me in Rosa's cantina;

Music would play and Felina would whirl.

Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,

Wicked and evil while casting a spell.

My love was deep for this Mexican maiden;

I was in love but in vain, I could tell.

One night a wild young cowboy came in,

Wild as the West Texas wind.

Dashing and daring,

A drink he was sharing

With wicked Felina,

The girl that I loved.

So in anger I

Challenged his right for the love of this maiden.

Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.

My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;

The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.

Just for a moment I stood there in silence,

Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.

Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;

I had but one chance and that was to run.

Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran,

Out where the horses were tied.

I caught a good one.

It looked like it could run.

Up on its back

And away I did ride, (THE VOLVO)

Just as fast as I

Could from the West Texas town of El Paso

Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico. (HOME STATE)

Back in El Paso my life would be worthless.

Everything's gone in life; nothing is left. (SHACK IN THE SNOW)

It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden

My love is stronger than my fear of death.

I saddled up and away I did go,

Riding alone in the dark.

Maybe tomorrow

A bullet may find me.

Tonight nothing's worse than this

Pain in my heart.

And at last here I

Am on the hill overlooking El Paso;

I can see Rosa's cantina below. (SHACK ON THE HILL SEING THE BAR DOWN BELOW)

My love is strong and it pushes me onward.

Down off the hill to Felina I go.

Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys; (NUMBER OF NAZIS KILLED IN CLUBHOUSE?)

Off to my left ride a dozen or more.

Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.

I have to make it to Rosa's back door.

Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel

A deep burning pain in my side. (WHERE HIS FATAL WOUND WAS)

Though I am trying

To stay in the saddle,

I'm getting weary,

Unable to ride.

But my love for

Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen,

Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.

I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.

I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

From out of nowhere Felina has found me,

Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.

Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,

One little kiss and Felina, good-bye.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but another possible meaning for "Felina" is this.

Fe-Li-Na.

Broken down to elements you get "Iron - Lithium - Sodium"  which are the most common ingredients of "Blood, Meth and Tears".

As Walt was admiring the Nazi Meth Lab, I was sure he was going to blow the whole thing up, as meth labs have a tendency to do.  It would have been an epic explosion and also a fitting closure to the series.

But I like how the ended it, with Walt going semi-peacefully.

I thought the memory of Jesse building that wooden box was great. The fact that he is ashamed that he traded something he worked so hard on for a few ounces of weed really said a lot about his thought process on how he ended up in this mess. Had he treasured his hard work and denounced his addiction early on, his life would be different. I took that to mean that he didn't hold Walt personally responsible for his troubles anymore. He had decided that this moment in his life was a turning point, and it was his own fault IMO.

just watched it. good not great. kinda predictable in hindsight. Every single person in this thread knew that minigun was getting used on the nazis and most of us knew Walt was going to die. I even predicted in this thread that Jesse somehow managed to squeak by once again and live when it looks like he's a dead man.

was happy to see two of my most hated characters Lydia and Todd get a gruesome ending. Todd was a sociopath. It was like he could never comprehend the magnitude of his actions or what was going on. Lydia was a wannabe gangster who was always in over her head and never was in control like she thought she was.

still, a satisfying ending to one of the best shows ever.

If they didn't kill off Walt and the Nazis people would have complained forever so of course it was predictable.

eh, i've got a list of shows i have to run through once i have nothing to watch.   hell on wheels, the wire, justified...the walking dead is back this sunday so i'm set for at least the next 2 or 3 months.

nothing is going to replace BrBa tho

Once you watch The Wire, you may change your mind. BB got closer to #1 than I thought it would, but it's still behind the Wire for me anyway.
