The OFFICIAL Breaking Bad Final 8 Thread (with teaser trailer)

Honestly, Breaking Bad got way too hyped for its own good. I don't think it's nearly as good as people try to fantasize it to be.

It was a good series, but come on now. Not the best of all time, and not amongst the best of all time.

definitely amongst the best of all time, no doubt about it.

the ending was a little too predictable for a show that threw plenty of curveballs.

Actually, I guess I can't really say because it's the first TV show I've watched all the way through. But I just can't imagine it being the best of all time, because I probably would've stopped watching at a few different times if people didn't keep telling me it got so much better.

Maybe it's just not my thing?

It's one of the best.  I can't ever say it's the BEST because that is a hard decision between a handful of shows though.  The fact that the finale as predictable but yet masterfully executed is why this show is amazing.  I'm glad Walt didn't tote the gun around Rambo style, that's not HIM.

Most shows take some episodes to build up, that's how it goes.

Not sure why it's so hard for people to accept as one of the best ever.   Holding on to older shows, idk, but that doesn't matter.  Everything meant something, so it's not enough to just watch the show.  Just like my mother, who just watches and I had to explain things to her.

I'm not sure why some people were expecting surprises.  Even if you look back on certain episodes in the older seasons Vince Gilligan would basically tell you what's about to happen  I keep going back to the whole cigarette thing in season 4 where if you weren't paying attention you can totally miss it, or even season 5 where they show Huell steal the cigarette and if you blink you missed it.

They've been hinting at Lydia's tea the whole time.  It wasn't a secret, it was all spelled out.

The final scene with Skylar was fantastic--she's evolved throughout the show. Really amazing to see how dark her character gets as the seasons go on.  I'm still not positive Walt told the truth or if he just said what Skylar wanted to hear.  But I think it's pretty obvious Walter got cocky and greedy along the way.  He got to the point where he didn't even care about the money at one point.  He just want to build his empire.

Walt's death looked just like a call back to crawl space.  He's just lying there with basically the same look on his face. Throughout the entire series we saw that Walter would find a way to save his ass and squeak by to get to the next task. But in the finale he used that to make sure that his family would end up all his money.  And he saved Jesse one more time, only this time it wasn't to cover his own ass.

I loved how Jesse didn't kill Walt simply because he asked him too.  That or either he saw that he was already dying...that final head nod between the two was something.

I liked it, and thought it was a fitting end.

My wife was different. I don't think she felt like all the loose ends were tied up. Rather, more created.

I can see where she's coming from. I'd like to know what happens to Jesse. I'd like to make sure Walt Jr. got his money. I'd love to see a post-death news piece on Walt. Does Skylar continue off the deep end of depression induced self destruction?

I think I expected more, but was satisfied nonetheless.

Now I'm eagerly anticipating TWD, and of course keeping up with my GoT news...

Totally glad I watched all of BB this year from beginning to end, though. Great show. One of the greatest of all time.

To me, Breaking Bad is definitely one of the greatest shows of all time and probably my personal #1. Before 2013 Dexter was my favorite of all time but with it's AWFUL final season and Breaking Bad's AWESOME final season I have to put away my bias and say that Breaking Bad is better. Breaking Bad was spectacular from beginning to end and plays like one really long movie which is what I love in a series. It never really felt drawn out and the writers had the balls to kill off major characters. I'll probably be watching Breaking Bad when I'm 60 like my Grandpa watches Bonanza.

I can see why it's getting some backlash though. A lot of the fans are obnoxious and over the top with their praise. There aren't really any people on here that do that but overall there's a lot of people who would have praised the ending and sucked off Vince Gilligan no matter what happened.

fantastic and fitting ending even though it was predictable. Especially the exchanges between Jesse and Walt.

I think when he told Skylar he did it for himself, it was true. He wasn't just lying to Skylar. He had been harboring deep resentment towards himself and the company that he sold his share from and didn't get any credit.

Meth was his second chance at building a name for himself. He did just that. Whether he be infamous or famous, he built an empire and people would "remember my name." That was what the show was all about imo. Building and leaving a legacy. Walt realized this when he was diagnosed and didn't have much time to live (or so he thought).

What a badass show.

Yeah it sounds like you didn't understand much of what you were watching.

That's not true at all though. I wouldn't have watched 5 seasons if I didn't understand it. I'm not saying it was bad or anything, I just don't think it's as good as some people make it out to be. Brilliant character development, some incredible cinematography, and some great moments and metaphors, but I don't think it was as great as most people seem to think.

But like I said, it's the only completed show I've ever watched all the way through, so maybe my comments are baseless.

Walt freed Skylar. She was worried about the threat of her family and Walt took care of that at the end, so she got her life back.

As far as Jesse, I'm pretty sure he'll disappear somewhere. He's been through hell.

but how is it not as good as some people make it out to be. You just state that opinion without providing why.
