The OFFICIAL Breaking Bad Final 8 Thread (with teaser trailer)

I watched again earlier and the phone call scene was SO brilliant.  I can't even begin to describe how great Bryan Cranston is.  He's the best actor on TV and its not even close.

But the way he managed to for once in his life accept what he's done was somewhat shocking to me. But in the back of my mind I was thinking that he's basically saying he's ready for war.  He knows the chase is on, and from the previews for next week, its going to be him vs. the Nazis.

It looks like Jesse will make it to the end, but at this point I have no idea what part he'll play, and I'm kind of glad I don't know.

I've never really liked Marie, but I can honestly say I hated her and felt bad for her at the same time when she went into the car wash as cocky as ever.

The knife fight scene and the faux kidnapping of Holly was brutal.  I know its all a show, but that really got my heart racing.  I can't be the only one that thought Skylar was going to take a knife to the chest.

yes!

I think Skylar will go into witsec with the family.  While she won't be dead in flash forward, she's gone forever, and could mean the same to Walt basically, so it could be that.

Cranson is probably the best actor on TV but I wouldn't say it's not even close, Jon Hamm is pretty close behind him.

Honestly I forgot about Hamm that quickly. I'll give Cranston the edge, but you're absolutely right. Something about watching this show right after mesmerized me.

Okay, speculation time:  this is our last opportunity to lay out how we think this will end.

We know Walt is going back to ABQ - not sure how he gets there, I guess that doesn't matter as much.

I don't know who Jesse wants to kill more, Walt or Todd.  Either way, I think he would kill himself if given the opportunity.  His emotional torture is unfathomable.

Walt wants his money from Uncle Jack's gang, and he realizes now that his family doesn't want anything to do with him.  Add on that piece about Gretchen and Elliot, wow.  He just wants blood and then I think he's ready to go out.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Lydia is going to attempt to have Skyler killed?  She wasn't satisfied that Todd only put a scare into her, it will be interesting to see what happens to her in the finale.

Have we seen the last of Marie and Saul?  Who gets the ricin?

Damn, too many questions.  What say you?

My guess is that Gilligan is going to end this with Walt alive, alone, and surrounded by his money (all of it) that neither his wife or his children want anything to do with.

Marie is in the wind and all but done as far as the series is concerned.  She no longer has a role to play.

M60 is for Jack, Todd, Jesse & co.  Walt has show that he hardened his heart towards Jesse and at this point he is just "one of the bad guys" that stole his money and are now stealing his legacy.

Ricin is for Gretchen & Elliot because fug them for what they said on TV

Saul has made his exit

Lydia slinks back into her hole with Madrigal

I think that by condemning Walt win back all of the spoils of his works but be unable to share with/give them to those who he did this for, it really drives home the point that all of those good intentions were the paving stones on the road to damnation. And hasn't that been what Vince has been telling us for the last 5 seasons?

If the last scene was Walt in the cabin with a chemo bag and 6 black barrels I would be very satisfied.

Watching Walt and Jesse both being prisoners (albeit a bit different) is hard to watch.  What an amazing show.  Andrea getting killed, was rough.  Todd is cold blooded, wow, MethDamon is no joke.

I still think the ricin is for Lydia, mainly because they keep showing her tea and that's how Walt planned on taking her out early on if she didn't work with him.  Obviously the m60 is for the nazi's.  I think walk leaves his former partners alone, I think the tv segment fulfilled 2 things for the show:

1) Gas on the fire for Walt to break bad.

2) He hears them mentioning blue meth is still out there and probably thinks "is Jesse still alive"?

Walt's family is gone, all he has is Jesse.  So I'm thinking along the lines he figures out that Jesse is alive and that adds to his plan.

I like the idea that Lydia could try to take down Skylar though which could lead Walt to go after her.  We'll see.   Also the idea of the final scene being her standing there with the baby, Walt Jr with his crutches and a ton of barrels sounds crazy and wouldn't surprise me.

I hope Saul is done and gone, he's too smart to mess around with this crap anymore, he's out.

Did you notice how Walt took his drink "neat" again at the bar... This was symbolism that he was ready to crawl in a hole and give up like the old Walt would do, I think...

The comments on the TV interview paired with Jr's reaction over the phone pretty much sealed the deal and flipped the switch that he is planning on going out with a bang... He doesn't care about anything else at this point other than doing in those that he feels have wronged him (Jesse, Lydia, Uncle Jack and crew, and even Gretchen and Elliot for running his name even further into the ground and trying to take away any of his contributions to Grey Matter)...

- I think Saul is completely gone (which leaves the door open for it to be a sequel rather than a prequel).

- I think Walt will find a way to see that his family gets the money.  I'm not sure how, but I think he ends up finding a way.

- The only person Jesse has left is Brock, so that leads me to believe he could stick around for him, but I really think he could be done for.  He's witnessed (less with Jane, but he woke up beside her dead body) two of the only women he's ever loved (I assume) die. He's got to be an emotional wreck.

- I honestly don't think Walt lives.  He's near death and he has one last mission and I think he's going to literally die trying. Maybe he and Jesse team up one last time?  I have no clue.  Honestly I just want to be surprised.  I don't think there's ever been a show on TV that has elicited the range of emotions that this show has.

We can debate what the greatest of all time is, but this show is unique in how it really has evolved, and how it's made you pay attention to all the little details and nuances from start to finish.  It really is a masterpiece.

Yeah that's not happening. Gillagan has said multiple times the ending ties up all loose ends. Your prediction doesn't answer what happens to Lydia or Saul and just leaves a very empty ending because if things are just staying the same then why is the show ending? Makes no sense.

Saul's story is over, he's off to a fresh start.  The only loose ends are the fates of Walt, Jesse, Lydia, Todd/nazis and Walt's family(Skyler, Marie, Jr).  I think there's nothing to tie up with Madrigal, only Lydia.  Gretchen and Elliot served to get Walt motivated again, I think their story is done too.

I think it ends with Jesse killing Walt and goes off with Brock to start a new life.
