The mistake that will come back to haunt us MKG over Barnes?

YOLO!

I don't think drafting MKG was a mistake. We knew exactly what we were getting when we drafted him with hopes that we could improve his jumpshot (one of very few weaknesses). Also I have never understood the thought process of seeing who we missed out on. Every team in the league could have a "we should have drafted so and so over who we did" list. I think it is all really silly.

Barnes is a solid shooter and MKG is not. I feel that sometimes people get so caught up in shooting that they neglect the other aspects of the game. My 2 cents...

Nostrodumass... He predicts the future with exclaimation points. !

Nostrohomer... He compares MKG to a top 50 player of all time Scottie Pippen. SMH

Stop being a homer dude. Comparing MKG to Pippen and Harrison Barnes to Sean Elliot is just stupid.

You straight biased fool!

I'm convinced carolina-chuck is the only person in this thread other than myself who knows the game of basketball. Any non Bobcat fan would tell you Barnes is better than MKG right now. Quit being homers and face reality.

^Sorry CP8789 you know your basketball as well.

I'm just sayin you can't be blindsided and ignore the fact that MKG is raw on offense. Barnes can score and is not a bad defender. I would take Barnes offense over MKG's defense if I had to choose right now.

Let me say this for the record just in case you guys think i'm bashing MKG. I'm not saying MKG isn't going to be a good player, all i'm saying is I rather have Barnes because he has star potential especially on offense. I love what MKG brings to the table on defense but he has a long way to go to improve on offense. Hopefully he improves and makes me regret making this thread.

MKG is a better defender by a long shot (He's already one of the best in the NBA and advanced stats back that up)

He's a better rebounder

He's better at driving and scoring around the bucket.

The only thing Barnes has over MKG is a jumpshot.

MKG has a much higher ceiling then Barnes and is actually already a better player.

Barnes is a good player though and he'll eventually get to the point where he averages 17-18 points a game.

MKG will probably never make it that high, he'll probably be around 14-15 for his career but he does everything else so well that it doesn't matter.

Yolo, I agree with your opinion bc I believe you're not using bias with this debate.

But, I would have to say I dont know the game of basketball like many on here. There are many posters on here that knows the game very much, but they let their feelings take over their arguments.

MKG is my favorite Bobcat and I was probably the loudest poster on here calling to draft him last year, but in hindsight I know for sure that at this point I would have taken Barnes over MKG. Barnes have set the bar on another level for MKG to reach and with what he have done it looks like he's going to have a brighter future.

"The argument" for every bobcats fan's favorite (Kemba, Hendo, MKG) is always this when compared to another player: "they're an overall better player" or "they brings better defense". It's getting old and tiring to hear. I for one loves the energy, motor, and defense that MKG brings but I rather have someone who can ball out in Barnes. Just my two cents.

Barnes does one thing, and one thing only better than MKG, and that's shoot jumpers.

As a rookie, MKG completed the 2nd highest pct at the rim, 2nd only to a guy named LBJ. Check the stats, I believe he avg 2nd highest reb at his position, he has a way better handle, gets to the rim at will.

Look at the rosters as well.  Both will be very good players, MKG impacts every area of the game, and last year, he did all of that at 19 years old, give him time, he'll be fine.
