Jordan Gross coined the term 'Tongan Battle' I believe. I'm quite interested to hear about that matchup since Gross was raving about Amini's progress earlier in the offseason.

Said it earlier: early advantages tend to go to the vets, but I still expected Star to overpower Silatolu. At least for that particular clip though, he didn't. Star went in at a bad angle, silatolu got good leverage on him and Star wound up on the ground.

Guess the lesson there is not to forget that for all his fearsomeness, Star is still a rookie with things to learn.

Anyway- Amini's power is one that that the players and coaches have talked about in the past. With him being acclimated to the speed of the game and a year ahead in technique it doesn't surprise me he threw Star around.

Just glad it's football season, sure hope Mr. Scot makes it down for his annual write-ups, they gave me life when I was deployed to Afghanistan, a few posters here, really kept me in the loop.

Fake tweets in a thread designed for real ones is a bit annoying. I have twitter/instagram and follow most of these guys but I like the football commentary on here so I prefer to read a thread like this.

I find the joke old and over played as well; which doesn't mean it can't be funny at the right time. This being a tweet-centric and more serious toned thread than the typical offseason fodder though makes the joke a bit out of place.

Also, I'd be careful before I drive Mr. Scot out of here because people want to spam gifs, memes, and canned Huddle jokes. His football commentary is some of the best/grounded/informative and there's not many Huddlers who can give you that.

Nobody is driving Scot out of here. Me and Scot have had plenty of debates in the past and he has a pretty thick skin.

A debate on forum etiquette is not going bother him.

Yeap.  Amini bulldozing Star is nothing to worry about. Last year Amini's problem wasn't his blocking ability, it was how easily he was confused on stunts and would often end up blocking nobody.  When that dude got his hands on defenders he usually tossed them around.

 

Im salivating at the possibility of Kugzilla getting his communication and assignments down pat before week 1.  Having him and Amini on the inside is just so much raw strength and athleticism its scary.

Confirmed today that I will go, but probably not till the following week. Shooting for the 230 session on 8/5.

Also plan to be at Fan Fest. Might have the lady with me.
