49ers announce the signing of Eric Wright to a one-year contract.

 

 

 

The 49ers announced the signing of the veteran cornerback and immediately placed him on the non-football injury/illness list. The 49ers had agreed to acquire Wright via trade on July 19 from theTampa Bay Buccaneers, but the trade didn't go through after Wright failed a physical. On the same day word got out about the trade, news leaked that Wright had been arrested on a DUI charge in July. Now, the 49ers get their man without giving up a conditional draft pick.
