20M to 23.5M avg/yr is the range I think Cam will get. He's only making 5.5M on avg/yr now.. this new CBA will inflate the 5th year contract of top talents going forward. We are (lucky?) enough to be the first team with the 1st overall pick the year it began. 

 

I'm just hoping for a back end contract for Newton that can be restructured later and also because we could use the money to get Cam more weapons sooner than later

more on a per season/garunteed basis.. but i doubt its 5 years. 2-3 if its same old same.. 6 years if he starts winning, but the 6 year contract will be less /season but over 100mil

Matt Ryan is not woth $20m a season. He's a good starter but he isn't elite.

 

Based on production Cam is probably worth 12-15m a season. But someone will overpay if not us which drives up his value. If Cam can't get into the playoffs you can't throw $20m a year at him.

Oh it would be great for the rest of the division if Cam bombs, goes from Superman to Clark Kent, plays mediocre, or becomes irrelevant and the Panthers never have to experience the horrors of a 100 million contract. We are all hoping that is the case.
