Plan A was Farmer's field in downtown Los Angeles while using Rose Bowl for first 3 years while stadium is built

Plan A.1 was relocating Dodger's Stadium to downtown Los Angeles and moving Farmer's Field Chavez Ravine where Dodger's Stadium is.

I've sat on a couple of public hearings for the EIR reports for the use at the Rose Bowl and received updates on the Farmer's Field plans since day 1. Based on the amount of money already spent on trying to get a team back to Los Angeles, a team moving to LA is inevitable and I'm guessing within 2 years.

Half the teams in the league have new stadiums, most funded with hundreds of millions in public money, and all due to the fact that teams can hang LA over their cities and get whatever they want.

The league would be much more profitable with a team (or two) in Southern California (aside from San Diego) with a population of 22 million and the #2 media market.

 

People may say that the city doesn't deserve a team since already losing two teams but you can chalk that up to bad ownership and with the problem teams are facing today, old stadiums. 

 

The only caveat to a team moving to Los Angeles is if a current team's stadium situation is not resolved, i.e. San Diego and Qualcomm Stadium. Which is why many teams such as Minnesota and Carolina have made sure to receive stadium upgrades in order to keep the teams in tow.

Let's move the Jaguars and Bucs both to LA. They can play each other 16 times a year and the rest of the league can do what they do already, completely ignore and not care about them.

Goodell would be an idiot not to want to bring a team to LA. The side effect of it being a motivator to build new stadiums is nothing compared to the financial benefit of having a team there.

 

That being said, I hope it never happens as it would be the most annoying thing to happen to the NFL coverage. If the Cowboys, NYC,  Patriots love is bad, just wait until they get a team.
