Bell sometimes won't even get a hand on his man which leads to full shots to Cam, watch the last Saints game, Bears game, both Bucs games, Chargers game, and you'll see why people are pessimistic about him. It is always not about how many sacks he gave up, but how many hits, pressures he gave up. Cam was at his worse when pressure came from the right side is what the stats show.

 

I just finished up all of that game's coach tape vs the Saints and Bell was terrible. So bad that I still wouldn't be optimistic about him if you put a vet next to him. He was getting pushed around like crazy.

caught bits and pieces of Smitty on The Drive..   He said Chud was the reason Wharton was sent packing.  Wharton may be tied more to Fox than the Panthers right about now if money isn't a drastic difference between offers.

I like it for now, but if by the time the season starts we haven't upgraded the right side of our line, I won't be thrilled. Would be nice if we could get somebody in for TC, o-line needs gelling time.

I caught Eric Winston on the Ross Tucker podcast and he basically expressed he and ex Jets RG Moore are just waiting for someone to get hurt because they want more money than a vet's minimum. Gett's isn't going to offer much more than minimum...

 

If Wharton ends up doing the same then the top 3 O-line FA's aren't going to wind up on our roster. Outside of them, there's no real upgrades.

not exactly..  even people here say they want Rivera to have a guy to handle the offense.  Even though Chud should have been more focused and less about the read-option, he was that guy.  Chud did just get a HC job (somehow). 

 

 

Unless you have the opinion that Rivera should meddle with the offense.  I think most will disagree with you, just look at all the Shula talk..

It's not unusual. Most head coaches accept input from coordinators and position coaches on personnel matters.
