He had a tendency to drop int's that were right in his hands, but he didn't "blow ass".  You've actually got to be a pretty good cover corner to be in position to DROP those int's.

Exactly. I live in dc so I've been watching him for awhile. The skins secondary was bad when he was starting over there. SF has a system and it works

 

2005 - 12 games, 48 tackles, 2 ints, 4 passes defended (rookie year)

2006 - 15 games, 80 tackles, 1 int, 17 passes defended

2007 - 7 games, 25 tackles, 1 int, 7 passes defended (injury year)

2008 - 16 games, 56 tackles, 2 ints, 24 passes defended

2009 - 16 games, 39 tackles, 0 ints, 12 passes defended (worst year)

2010 - 12 games, 54 tackles, 2 ints, 12 passes defended

2011 - 16 games, 44 tackles, 6 ints, 18 passes defended

2012 - 16 games,56 tackles, 1 int, 7 passes defended

 

Considering his stats he's been pretty consistent across the board.

He failed his physical and has been released by the bucs.

Depending on why he failed, I'd scoop him up for cheap if gettle can pull it off. Add in.a signing of mikell hopefully and we suddenly have a respectable secondary.

I'm thinking he'd be cheap too.

I did some reading on him about why he did poorly last season and an article said he's more of a man coverage guy, not zone. Do the bucs play zone coverage? I wonder if he'd be a good fit here?

Perhaps the almost certainty that he'd be a starter and the fact that he'd get to stick it to the bucs twice a year may entice him to sign for vet minimum with us?

I'd love one year of Wharton, mikell and wright, all at or near vet minimum. I know its a pipe dream, but that'd be one hell of a band-aid.
