Pacific Rim Review

Fun movie.  The love story was essentially an afterthought, which is good because it sucked and those actors were nothing special.  Idris Elba was great, I thought Charlie Day was hilarious (essentially played the same character from Its Always Sunny minus the illiteracy), and Ron Pearlman was awesome as well.

Its not the kind of movie that tries to reinvent the wheel, but it does what it sets out to do well.  A big budget, futuristic Godzilla movie

Yeah there's too much to see not to see it in IMAX 3D.

I saw it twice this weekend, once with some friends and once with my stepson and stepgrandson, and actually liked it better the second time around. Theater was a bit too loud (Stonecrest) but the soundtrack did sound great (same composer that did Iron Man, lots of guitars!)

Most plot holes I am ok with, but this one is just getting on my nerves....

If the Kaiju were bar codes to open up the rift, why did the survival pods go through it just fine?

it needed the kaijus DNA to open it. it didnt close until the 2nd pod went back through.

I'm going to see this tonight with the kid I'm mentoring...is it worth seeing in IMAX 3D?

I know it wasn't filmed in IMAX or 3D, and GDT didn't want it to be 3D, but some reviews are saying it is worth the price hike.

I'm leaning towards IMAX cause I think it'll be more memorable for the kid.
