You start an NFL team today, who is your QB?

To be perfectly honest, if I were to start an NFL team, I'd go for some O-Line and D-Line guys first, likely also a runningback, a stud receiver and maybe a shutdown corner before I'd shop for a QB.

I believe in the foundations being first, so I'm not a "build around the QB" guy.

Hehe, looking at our roster, I think John Fox agrees with you.

Oline/Dline: Gross, Peppers both top-ten picks, along with high picks in Otah and Kalil

Running backs both drafted in the first round

Stud receiver: obviously one of the top three in the league

Shutdown corner: Gamble is the best in the division

Good heavens KDRH!!! Where have YOU been?!?!?!? I was hoping you would be back by draft time!!!!!!

Welcome back!

FTR, I agree w/Mr. Scot philosophy wise.

What up? I've just been busy with two jobs and gettin enrolled in school. Glad to be appreciated.

Also, i kinda went into recluse mode after the Arizona loss. I just couldn't figure out why Gamble was benched that game.

I also wasn't feeling the whole draft thing this year. I was kind of glad we didn't have a first rounder seeing as how the positions we needed the most, were also the weakest in terms of quality prospects. I think this year, 2010, is the year to get a DT or CB.

I think a lot of peeps took a break after that loss.

So you neglected your Huddle duty for REAL LIFE??? Shame on you! ;)

Seriously, glad all is well. I always appreciate knowledgeable intelligent posters like you (and miss them when they are gone).

Well, thank you. I must say I'm very excited about the players we actually did grab. I've seen Everette Brown in person a few times and his motor and character are top-notch. I'll probably go to my first training camp this year, too. I live in Rock Hill, so not too far to drive.

The only thing that worries me this year is a lack of depth. I think our starting five on the o-line is the best in the league, we could have the best starting LB corp in the league if Dan Conner is the first-round talent we think he is and can play over the tight end, our DBs are good, and the RBs are obviously a strength. These guys will just need to stay healthy and play at a high level every week--not doing this has been probably this team's main problem in the past.

The only thing i see us missing is consistency at QB--Jake is capable, he just has to show it, depth as i mentioned before, and a stud defensive tackle. Next year's draft, hopefully, will bring us one. Alan Bailey at Miami is a guy I'm gonna watch this year in college football.

I was in love with Brown character wise from the minute I saw him interviewed in March.

I don't watch college ball but when I watched his highlights I was impressed by the amount of plays/moves he made when he had to fight through blocks. My pet peeve of highlight films is always all those plays they show where the RB is all alone with gaping holes to run through and scores or a DE comes unblocked on a blitz and sacks the QB. Whoopie do. Let's see the guy break tackles/fight through trash to make a play.

You think Diggs will lose out to Connor?

I would love it if you could get to camp and post your observations.

Not sure Connor will win the starting job, actually I doubt it, but i think he'll see some good playing time. And if an injury occurs I think he may be the first guy inserted into the starting lineup as a replacement, regardless where that may be.
