Oh poo, I totally forgot about Big Ben but then again I also feel like the Steelers franchise was already built when he was inserted into it and not the other way around. If I'm building a franchise around someone it's probably not Big ben even though I think he's good.

Probably Brees or Roethlisberger. I'd have to wait a couple of years before I made up my mind about Matt Ryan, though his name was one of the first to come to mind.

To be perfectly honest, if I were to start an NFL team, I'd go for some O-Line and D-Line guys first, likely also a runningback, a stud receiver and maybe a shutdown corner before I'd shop for a QB.

I believe in the foundations being first, so I'm not a "build around the QB" guy.

If were taking a QB, I would still take Brady over Big Ben, Cutler, Rivers and Ryan. Even with the bum knee he still has all the tools to be one of the better QB's to play in the league. Of course I want B.B. as my head coach if Brady is my QB. He's not that old either. Barring another injury, he still has 5-7 good years.

If I were going overall player, I would build my defense around Ed Reed. The guy is not only an incredible defensive player, but on any play he has the uncanny ability to put 6 on the board for your team.
