A good "role player" is not worth $7m a year...

People are crazy around here.  He's a clear starter.  He's a top 15 and probably soon a top 10 SG in the league between his offense and defense and what he brings.  He's improved each year on terrible teams and avg'd 19ppg the second half last year when healthy.  In fact the only knock on him really is his health (which wasn't terrible last year) and his 3pt shot which could get better, but I think his exceptional defense makes up for that.

I'd rather roll with Taylor than overpay for either Hendo or Monta.

1) Taylor is not a SG and it's quite silly to roll with some unproven 2nd rounder that had a very up and down season before over a proven talent like Henderson who has kept getting better and provides excellent defense.

2) If he plays SG, who backs up MKG?  Taylor is the clear backup for SF and an emergency backup at SG but hardly a go to back-up or starter at that position.

PG not a SG.

Many experts have said theyre not sure if he's a PG or SG. If you look at his game, he's more a shooting PG than passing at Oklahona St. The man also has great size and gets a lot of his points in the paint/post. His game is so much alike DWade. I really think he'll be a SG in the next level.

You are forgetting the part that makes this all work. WE SUCK. WE ARE TANKING. Who gives a damn about back ups, or any of that poo actually. Get fuging Wiggins or this team is headed to hell. Oh wait we have been there for years already. Can't get much worse.

Al Jefferson and his $13.5m a year says otherwise on your tanking theory.   He also said in an interview this morning he wouldn't have signed to play with Charlotte if he was going to another losing team.  We are NOT tanking, despite what you want or someone else, that is NOT what the Bobcats are doing this year.  Not to mention being in discussions with Monta Ellis and the like.

Wiggins and all the other "saviors" in the draft could suck in college and drop much like Shabazz did this draft and even McLemore to an extend.  What if this, what if that, and the other 8 teams that are tanking.

PG - Kemba Walker

SG - Monta Ellis

SF - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

PF - Cody Zeller

C   - Al Jefferson

... that is a playoff team.  I understand why people love Henderson.  He plays hard and is crazy athletic.  But the above mentioned starting 5 is pretty nasty, and would instantly be the best offensive team we've ever fielded.

So we are going to the playoffs?

You're missing the point.  The point is, this team is TRYING to go to the playoffs, obviously, by the signing of Jefferson and the interest in Ellis.  Do I think with Henderson or Ellis this team could make the playoffs as a low seed?  Definitely.  If we don't make the playoffs does that mean we tanked on purpose?  No.  It's hard to tell what will happen in a season, or what injuries you'll sustain, etc.  The only thing we know is that we've dropped 13.5 a year on Jefferson, we're interested in Ellis, and nothing points to this team wanting to tank.  It's time for the tank fans to move on, it's not happening, at least not on purpose.  We're trying to put out a team that can win, obviously.

Idk about better defense. Those are subjective stats really. While I applaud that he has more steals I feel that there must be more indicative stats out there to prove Hendo is a better overall defender. I could be wrong but I am curious as to how many points each allows on any given night. Shooting % of the opposing player when guarded by each respectively.
