Higgins and Cho Ready To Do Business With Henderson

Recommended Posts

Wish we could get Monta, if we don't sign Hendo...but that probably won't happen either. :(

I want nothing to do with that short Ballhog that plays no defense.

Monta can't play we other PG and I don't want him fuging with Kemba's development.

I'd rather start Taylor and sign Rip Hamilton then over pay for Monta.

Ellis reminds me of the basketball of the late 90's to mid 2000's that was horrible. Steve Francis 2.0 is not fun to watch..id rather sign Harlod Miner..out of retirement.

So someone in the league will pay Hendo 8 mil?

Rip Hamelton was just waived....band aid to the lotto?

Update: just saw Koolkat make the Rip Hamelton suggestion..not ideal but one year guy..and creepy mask.

Ben Gordon and Jeff Taylor will be our 2 shooting guards on the roster...

We have a qualifying offer in so I doubt Hendo just walks away. We will have an opportunity to match another team's offer or do a sign and trade.

He is asking for almost twice of his QO which means he is more than willing to walk away from it if he receives his price tag.  If another team wants to go sign him for 8-9 a year, then we will probably end up either signing Monta Ellis or go get a stop gap SG that can fill the position for 1-2 years on the cheap.

If someone offers Hendo 6-7 a year.... we probably match it and keep him here.  Either way, I don't think the qualifying offer to him means we are guaranteed a starting shooting guard on the roster this season or getting anything in return for him if he does leave.  The stupidest thing we could do is to match someone offering what he wants....

Henderson would be stupid to come back to Charlotte for a "contract year" and think he is going to have better stats than last season with the additions of Zeller, Al Jefferson, & the maturation of MKG and Kemba.  He needs his long term deal this off season and he knows it.

    • The issue is the formula is secret, and it incorporates runs... So... Yup, it does. Same with PFF (which isn't quite as secret). But when it doesn't - like on Sunday - it's often to hilarious results. PFF is more reliable I think at matching my 'eye' test.
    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
