Cam Newton: Why Can't He Win?

he was banned because he had a crypto-racist gimmick account where he posted in what i suppose he figured was mangled black vernacular with intentional bad grammar and misspellings for "epic lulz".

also not all opinions are created equal and an elementary school classroom is what you're looking for if you think every dumb thought that crosses your mind deserves respect.

e: and yeah you're totally the same guy

Your assumption is  wrong IRTPT. I only found this fan forum 4 days ago and was very surprised at the bickering that goes on here. I thought we were all fans of same team. But considering if you post a comment that someone doesn't  like they will just ban you. That sounds a lot like dictatorship to me. With that being said, some of the things that Smiff posted could be perceived as profiling but I don't know that his point was to be racist. I gathered that until Cam matures and stops "buying in" to what his generation is doing (whether it be the clothes, or the music or the rides) he will not gain respect from his elders on or off the field. The fact that Cam has to "ask" to be a captain says a lot about how he is perceived. Someone also said something about dropping the n-bomb, which Ruined Paula Deans

'empire". As it very well should because it was disrespectful. But on the other hand, put on any rap music and you can hear the n-bomb in almost every lyric. This is also disrespectful but somehow accepted. Sound like a double standard to me. Now going ahead and label me a racist and ban my account too. But your WRONG. I judge people not on the color of their skin, not on from where they were born and not by how big the wad of money is in their pocket. I judge on character and actions. Both areas that Cam could improve on if his goal is to be a leader and an elite QB. Now ban me mods.

At least get your facts straight. Cam didn't ask to be a captain. He was asked about being a captain by the media and responded accordingly.

I just joined today...does anyone here talk about Carolina football?  This is the third post i have looked through and over half of the content is arguments about non carolina or even football related items.  Dont get me wrong I am the new guy here and i have seen some excellent posts (which is why I joined) i just wish moderators were more "ban happy" honestly.  I know this problem is part of virtually every forum on every subject but it drives me crazy trying to find intelligent football discussions...

in regards to Cam wanting to be Captain, he was asked but if you read his answer it has been his plan at least for a good while, its not like the reporter gave him the idea.  He does have a bit of maturing to do, but I think its worth working out and waiting for, he is learning both the game and being an adult, he has the tools, the talent and I think an overall good attitude.  He has basically naturally won everything he touches with a ball, so when he loses I think he is still learning to deal with it.  I think the Panthers are in very very good hands to continue to build around. I for one, I am very excited....

He found this forum 4 days ago, right when Steven Smiff started posting...but hey it's not an alt!

I'll play along though...since you're defending Steven Smiff's honor: if he's not trolling, then is he just retarded? Continuously bringing up as one of his main points that Cam is immature because he lets a 10-year-old boy talk trash to him in a COMMERCIAL? But OMG it's just a difference of opinion guys!

thanks master! another spell checker, u can never have enough of those. does my spelling make you cringe as much as cam's late game chokes? i truly am a GENIUS! that spell check really came in handy! thanks!

If your example of a *GENIUS* (atta boy sport) is people like Steven Smiff which you explicitly stated already, then yes....you sure are a genius!!  People must tell you you're very special, finger quotes and all.  Unlike you Colts fans, we don't need spell check and/or help from fans of OTHER teams to spell the name of our coaches.  That's pretty much the definition of a bandwagoner right there.

"Hey guys that Chuck Pegano fella, I hear he is good coach!"

Thanks nationofdomination, you're helping me perfect my impression of a Colts fan!

The problem is that it is the off season and all real Panther's football talk has been exhausted and most of us don't want to rehash the same argument over and over again.

Plus in the off season general NFL threads are allowed inthe Panthers forum.

Stick around the Huddle is great but an acquired taste!

Its been said by every reporter and game show announcer during all of his games. It was obvious to me at least that Cam was more worried about his icon status that being a winning teammate. He did seem to turn a corner midway through last season. I don't need to be anothers posters alt because I have plenty of opinions about football on my own. However, I have no problem defending others thoughts that are legitimate.

no bandwagon jumper here sonny boy. been a colts fan since the early sixties, unitas era. my brother and i went to bmore memorial stadium in '77 to see colts - patriots. the ruston rifle bert jones was qbacking the colts, steve grogan the pats. the cement supports supporting the upper deck blocked our view between the 30 and 50 on the far end. great trip, got a pic with bert jones outside the colts locker room, met wide out roger carr, and the colts first round pick that year, bama linebacker barry krause. just being in the stadium where so many childhood heroes played was a great experience. unitas, lenny moore, raymond berry, john mackey, gino marchetti, big daddy lipscomb, bubba smith, mike curtis, among many others. great players, real characters, a lot of hall of famers. the following year brother and i rented a room in suffolk va. to watch a colts - bills game. we first traveled to rocky mount, bad info, game wasnt on tv there, so we pressed on to suffolk. after watchin our colts lose to the bills, we restocked our beer and watched mcenroe beat borg in us open final. in 2000 we traveled to columbus ohio to watch the colts and browns scrimmage. from there we traveled to terre haute ind. for 3 days of colts camp held at the rose hulman institute of technology. we were comin off a 13 - 3 season, peyton was goin into 3rd season, edgerrin james was goin into his 2nd, we were pumped, little did we know we would have to wait another 7 years to get one championship in the manning era. we go way back. grew up watchin colts in early sixties in black and white, and listening to great voice of the baltimore colts, chuck thompson, watchin the unitas trot out in those famous hi tops. that reminds me, your owner has the hi tops unitas wore in the '58 championship game when the colts beat the giants, the game widely regarded as the game that put the nfl on the map.

you call that a bandwagoner? and you dont even talk football. thought this was a football board, not a spelling b, sonny boy

LOL wait...you mean to tell me you're more than 16 years old? Wow that's embarrassing...I've never heard of geriatric trolling before.  You, sir, are a pioneer.  Looks like you've got your priorities straight in life, hats off to ya.

This is a PANTHERS board, not a football board...you've stumbled onto the wrong site you senile "genious" of a man.  By all means, enjoy your stay though...it really is quite a joy having you around !!

do you think we haven't been through this a hundred times or something

like do you think we've never seen some moron get banned and then witnessed a new account magically appear that not only agrees with what the banned dipshit said but also considers it "deeply disturbing that different opinions aren't tolerated" even though it's overwhelmingly apparent that the original asshole was trying to be as disruptive and obnoxious as possible

Interesting...doesn't seem that way to me.  Let me know what else the media says about our team so I can be enlightened like you.
