he said when peppers gets his first sack all this mess will be forgotten. I'm saying it's like that has happened already.

Clear now? :P

We know Peppers :bigear: talent level. We've been following the new Defensive philosophy and how it looks to be a great fit with Peppers :bigear: talents and desired defensive role. So yes it looks good from here . . .

You don't really doubt Peppers :bigear: will get a sack next season do you?

The man had the right to walk away

Not if he wanted to continue to play in the NFL.

End of contract means end of contract, he's no longer a Panther and free to go anywhere, period.

Not true. Sure, his contract with the Panthers expired but he was still bound by another contract , the CBA. That means the Panthers still had the right to retain his services over any other NFL team.

The UFL would love him to go that route (if they could afford him). Arena league still exists if he would accept the $200/game plus $50 bonus to win. Canadian League is another option also at a slightly lower salary than his million/game gig for this year.

i really don't like the idea of an uncapped year because I'm afraid Carolina, as a small market team, won't be able to compete in year and out for the championship. But if we lock him up with gaurenteed 12 mil a year for 4 or 5 years...we may handcuff ourselves as a franchise if the NFL doesn't become uncapped. On the other hand, if we can afford 17 mil in a capped year, maybe it isn't a big deal as long as Pep plays well.

PSL's keeps our value high and our cashflow consistent. We would be in the top 15 teams in the NFL.

Small market teams have been doing just fine in baseball. Nobody's going to mistake the Marlins, Phillies or Cardinals as bigtime.

In fact, big market teams such as NE, Pittsburg, and NY have been doing better than their big league counterparts.
