Cant tell if serious

It's to damn hot for all tht stuff.

I usually played with a mesh jersey, paintball pants ans sneakers.

The pants were padded" the jersey not so much.

If you can handle a bee sting that goes away in seconds and a bruise you don't need 5 layers of clothing.

just a heads up, the rental guns these places tend to give you absolutely suck ass

they are slow firing, get jammed alot, and are completely inaccurate. you can be aiming at the same spot and shots just randomly fly off in all different directions

if you go against people that are really into paintball and bring their own equipment you are going to get sh-t on. they'll have rapid fire pin point accurate guns that never jam

at least this has been my experience HAVE FUN lol

i used to be a regular at gold diggers paintball up in Albemarle(really good field btw) still have several grand in gear that I haven't used in two years.

One day a frat group showed up with 50 people and they all rented guns, well they must have pissed off the owner because for the one and only time that I played there he allowed all the regulars to team together (usually we had to be split to make things even) and take on the fraturnity...... It was 20/50 and a complete massacre not one of the regulars were taken out.

Now that I am at a PC and not my phone/iPad...

First get some bug spray and use it liberally.

Get a dark cap to wear, wear it backwards with your mask, head shots hurt no matter what, but this will help.

Go grab a pair of Mechanix gloves or something similar to protect your hands.

Take something to rub on the inside of your rental mask to stop fogging. I told Panthro the soap trick. Basically you want to make a thin layer of something on the inside of the mask to keep the moisture from your skin from causing fog. Like the shower mirror trick with shaving cream.

A paint ball impact feel about like a bee sting, but the pain goes away quicker. They leave nice round bruises which get worse the closer the shot originated from. As hot as it is I would probably go out there in a cut off T-shirt, shorts and some sneakers, but I have been hit and know what to expect.  Camo's pants from a military surplus are always handy and usually durable enough to take some impact. If you want some breathability and increased mobility cut them about 6 inches below your knee.  A stretch underarmor longsleeve under a sleeveless T can help with impacts as well, but honestly they aren't that painful unless someone is trying to hurt you.

You will likely get a Tippmann 98 marker with a plastic hopper and a 20oz CO2 tank. These things are great markers but are usually run into the ground as rental equipment. 944.jpg

First thing you want to do is get them to make sure the barrel is clean and the breech/bolt is clean. This affects accuracy. It is worth mentioning that paintball "guns" are inherently inaccurate. They are not so much a modern rifled gun as they are a short barreled air cannon. You can get dependable accuracy in a 3ft by 3ft square from about 20feet with this marker. 30-40ft and your spread will get larger. Keep that in mind. Also a paintball is traveling roughly 275 feet per second (it should be at least) so you will need to lead your shots AND people can react to the sound before the shot actually hits them....well at least I could back in my heavy playing days.  Keep your gun pointed barrel up, CO2 makes a mess when the bottle is pointed valve down.

Keep in mind people can't aim under pressure.

People are scared of pain.

People think they are Rambo.

Use all these to your advantage.

When you move from bunker to bunker fire a few in the general direction .

Get a good place and wait.

Shooting people in the back is acceptable.

Bring more money than you think you need.

If they let you upgrade to a "speedball" marker, do it and destroy your friends.

I am surprisingly good at paintball....when we go play with friends/family every year around christmas :)

I have longed wished a group of Huddlers would try a big game.

They have fallen back during the bad economy times lately, but its a hell of a rush with 500 people playing all at once.

Now that kiddo is getting bigger I hope to make a couple games a year.

Last thing and it deserves its own post.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR F.U.C.K.I.N.G MASK OFF WHILE YOU ARE ON THE FIELD.

Ive seen it happen at least 100 times.

I don't care if you have a fuging Bee inside the mask, DO NOT TAKE IT OFF.

Paintballs will blind you, forever, if they hit your eyes.
