Charlotte Bobcats 2013 Las Vegas Summer League Thread

I think you could watch Biz and see he was not going to be a Dwight Howard.

Sure a project like Garnett?! A 6'11" guy with ball handling, athletic ability, shooting... Ok I am all in.

Projects tend to become developed for another team.

Noel is the worst kind of project.. At least Biz has size.

Biyombo was super raw entering the league with a huge upside. He's had poor coaches that haven't taught him fundamentals that he never learned. Unfortunately, potential will only get you so far. The fact that Biz only started playing basketball five or six years ago is one thing and then the fact that he is trying to learn to play the game against the best players in the world doesn't exactly scream 7th overall pick.

If he doesn't learn to catch the ball, he will be nothing more than an energy guy and another wasted top 10 pick for the Bobcats.

If a guy is 6'11 and can handle the ball, is athletic, and he can shoot he isn't really a project. ;)

But I do tend to agree that I don't like projects because truth is most fans, teams, and media don't really have the patience to see it through.

If he is treated as a high energy guy.. Like a Chris Anderson.. Then he is fine. He just does not need start getting paid beyond a 5 mil type guy.

Id hate to lose him... He does have unique value. Biz is a good player. Solving coordination issues.. N overall awareness is a huge issue.

That was for someone who said all high schoolers were projects.

They are all projects. I can't think of a single player to go from Highschool to NBA that didn't have multiple major holes in their game.

Garnett's weakness coming into the NBA were strength, rebounding and defense "Because of strength"   He improved on all of those areas considerably before he was a good player in the NBA.

Lebron James didn't have a reliable jumpshot or post game

Kobe Bryant didn't have good strength or weight for an NBA 2 guard at the time and was considered a 2-3 year project before he would have an impact on a team.

Dwight Howard didn't have an offensive game or a lot of low post moves and was considered a defensive only center.

Those are the most notable Highschool to NBA players and they all were projects and had huge holes in their game. James was the most complete of all these players and he really had massive holes in his game with no jumpshot and low post game at all.
