Biz literally has some of the worst hands I have ever seen; we played a lot better today and Zeller looked great!

also I really wish Kemba could be playing with these guys in the game- just for us fans

Biz was always going to take a while to develop considering he had only played 2 years of basketball when he was drafted. He'll get resigned as long as he shows improvement and I think him coming off the bench for the next two years gives him a great chance at improving his all around game.

It was a nice win even though they let the team back into the game with stupid mistakes and such and on a plus MKG, Taylor and Zeller all looked good.

You just do not take projects in the top 5

Yes you do, It happens all the damn time. Any high school kid that came out was a project and most players that are drafted are projects. You really don't know what to expect for most of these kids once they hit the NBA.

If the player has elite athleticism for their size and show skills in hard to find areas like shot blocking and defense then you take the gamble and draft a project. It really happens in every draft.

Biz was drafted seventh, I get your point though.

There were a lot of people that actually wanted Biz on this board in the 2011 Draft... Why? I don't know...

The picks should have been Kemba and Kawhi...

I like the pick still, he has elite athleticism and good size with above average strength. Combine that with a really high work ethic and the fact he's still basically a college player with 4 years of basketball experience. He's already one of the best shotblockers in the NBA, above average rebounder with a good chance of becoming a real lock down post player.

It was always going to take time though, which is why he'll be resigned as long as he shows improvement in his game. I can understand why he gets made fun of because of his offensive ability, but he wasn't drafted for that. He was drafted for shotblocking and rebounding and he does both of those really well.  He ranked 33rd in REB48, 30th in rebounds, 9th in blocks, and 11th in Bp48 in like 27 minutes a game.

When the Cats gave him starter minutes at the end of last season he averaged 8 pts, 10 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and was shooting 55% from the field.

I also expect that once Jefferson is gone in two-three years that Biz will get the starting center spot back. Him and Zeller's games really fit together well.

Whether Biz will become more than a shot-blocking, rebounding role player is to be seen. Hindsight is 20/20, even though right now you still can't say with 100% certainty that Biz will not develop into a big time player. You can't act like there wasn't much to like in Biz as a prospect.

What I find the most ironic is that most of the guys that are criticizing the Biz pick are the same ones who are saying we should pick Noel and other guys because we need to "swing for the fences". That's EXACTLY what we did with the Biz pick. 6'9" big men with his wingspan and athleticism don't come around often and are literally a once in a generation type player. Best case scenario, you picked Dwight 2.0 with the 7th overall pick. Worst case you get an energy big man who can outrun 2nd string guys down the court and block shots and rebound.

Biz has a long way to go. There's no doubt about that. But it is WAAAY too early to give up on him and to say there was nothing about him that warranted being picked 7th overall is flat out wrong.
