Ron Jaworski thinks Cam Newton is the 18th best QB in football.

If I give you those 3 that still leaves Cam much higher than 18.

Ranking Cam below Rivers and Romo, really? REALLY?

I actually agree that Cam should be over a few of those, particularly the rookies. For some reason wins have become a QB stat in football and that dictates a lot of these lists until you get to the 4 elites.

Romo would be a lot higher on these lists if he won more. Dude puts up some pretty good numbers but his team never wins for the most part, so he is looked down upon. It's the reverse effect for Luck. They go from #1 pick to the playoffs when he shows up.

Bottom line for a QB, win more than you lose, and look above average doing it.

These are the same guys that put Tebow at #95, right?

I'll stand by my earlier question.  What fan bases that have QBs ranked ahead of Cam would trade their starting QB for him for next year only?  Honestly, I don't think you would find a taker.

With that said, if you extended it out to the next five years, I bet you would get more than a few.  Cam's got more potential than just about any QB in the league.  But he needs to live up to it and make those final completions vs. the Seahawks and Chiefs, or hold on to the ball against Atlanta before we can count him among the elite.

the fan bases that wouldn't trade their qbs for cam are, patriots, steelers, ravens, colts, texans{they didnt even want manning},broncos,redskins,cowboys,giants,packers,lions,saints,falcons,49ers,seahawks,rams. thats 15, you may question a few, i went division by division, dont know if they all rank ahead of cam on jaws list, but these fan bases dig their qb's too. they may not have cam cracked up to be as great as you do.

Romo is more like Ryan than you want to admit.....both put up great stats in the regular season to only choke under the pressure of the playoffs.

We've got far too many troll accounts in here.

Im not a troll Red. I am someone who looks at Panthers AND Cam objectively. I know thats real hard for some of you but not for me. Cam is not respected in the NFL and its his own fault. Remember, he wanted to be an icon...an entertainer, instead of a team leading qb. It was always about him, not the team. Thats why he has so much negative publicity. If Cam wants to be a captain then he should stop showing his underoo's above his pants, take the price tags off his hat, stop listening to crap music and stop letting a kid bitch slap him on public tv.

Interestingly enough I went over to a massive football message board that has fans from all teams that vote in various polls. They did a huge QB ranking poll spot by spot from 1 on down to 32.

Our very own Cam Newton was voted as the 11th best quarterback in the league by the fans from all across the league. Only RGIII for the young guys was voted ahead of him who came in at 10th and beat out Cam by just a couple votes. 11th seems about right to me and fans from other teams seem to agree and would share our same sentiments that 18 is far too long for the kid.

do you happen to have the name of that board?

Find a better way to spend your afternoon, you're trying too hard and looking desperate.

Who is this guy? Must be an Alabama fan

Alabama fan?

WRONG.

I'm from NC and am a Panther fan. The only difference between you and me is that I choose to take my head out of my butthole and look at reality. If you would go to your local CVS and ask for a nice soothing ointment that may help you get your head out of your sore butthole, you may be able to wipe away the poo thats is in your eyes. That poo is making you see Cam as an elite qb, not the joke that he is on tv. Even that kid in that commercial made Cam look stupid.

Romo puts up some numbers and I agree that like Cam he's unfairly looked down on because of his W/L record (which is a team stat) but Romo is a big time choke artist who frequently makes some mind-bogglingly bad decisions for a vet QB with as much time in the saddle as he's had.
